What do you think about dancers having a Myspace page? I have a personal one, but I was thinking of making one for work. Do you suppose it's a good idea to generate business? Or a bad idea that will generate stalkers and a dangerous situation?

I have one for work. Hasnt been very lucrative for me, but who knows.....be prepared for a lot of guys writing asking you out asking to hook up, wanting pics....etc.....
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

Myspace is an obsession...much like Stripperweb...

Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.
I have one just for work and one personal one. It hasn't done much of anything for me so far but who knows...............someday it might.

LoL or asking you to chat on myspace, offer escort services, threesomes, chat, sex, extras in the club etc..

My work one hasn't alot for me either yet I still keep it as it is a way for me to keep in contact with all those guys I meet and/or have danced for in the clubs I work within.......... and thus they will know when I will next be back in their club.
There are a few club guys who keep a watch on it.

I've had people come into my club and spend money because they've seen me on myspace!
I have just made a dancer one:

I just got one, and I'm sending all the pl's who wanna hook up my schedule for that weekWe'll see if it works!
I have one too, just for work. It's gotten a few ppl to come see me, but it's great for ppl in the club who want to contact me....
I have to agree with everyone who, like me, seems to find that having a personal and a professional profile on myspace can work to their advantage. What I've found works for me is that I have those close personal friends on my personal one, and everyone else, including the few people I know in the industry, on my professional one. But, then again, I use my professional profile (myspace.com/christywild) for more then just promotional material for me as a dancer, though that is a big part of it. I also do the other main aspect of the adult industry, so this way I can get out to more people....and yes, I actually have a couple of regulars from people who found me on myspace. And yes, you do get a few who want to date/fuck/get nude photos, but that's why I have my profile set up the way I do- like, for example, one of my bullet points says "I don't give out nude photos AT ALL to ANYONE- Read the Terms of Service again if you really wanna know why" And if they really want to see photos of me, I send them to christywild, which has the warning page, so if they pull shit, it's not on me...I tell em that I follow TOS on MySpace for a reason...cover all bases. But, in my opinion, having yourself out there, professionally, does more good than harm 90% of the time...that other 10% is for those whose family and close personal friends have a serious presence on their myspace page.
Age is only important when it comes to wine and whiskey!
Thanks for all your comments...I'm gonna pt one up. I think its a good marketing tool.
Just got a very strange email from my new myspace account:
"If you dance at SECRETS:
Why is news of it on the web?
I stopped going to strip clubs because of the lack of privacy with dancers on the net. Not that your looks would have drawn me back (guys actually PAY to get dances from women who look like you? There are sexier women at my corner deli).
Customers aren't allowed to bring in recording equipment, and if clubs were smart, dancers would stay off the net.
We like our secrets kept too."
WTF!? It doesnt even make sense? I just deleted it. Like I giv too shits about your unrequited love at your corner deli???
Well, honey if youve only got eyes for a 9" salami sausage then that would explain your opinion.

^LOL, see what happened was, this poor guy fell in love with a dancer after a three minute lap, and when she let him know that it was "just a dance hun, we're not married." he decided all strippers were big ole meanies and has made it his mission to be an asshat to each one he comes across.....
Yah, that sounds about right.![]()

If you really don't have time to deal with asshats like that and similiar you may want to go the route Lucy Blue has taken (aussiepunkshocker) by putting up a permanent away message. I just put up my away message whenever I'm not home as I seriously don't use the internet as much and don't want to be paying thru the nose at some internet cafe wasting time having to delete all those sorts of messages.
