    Default Newbie from the UK

    Hey all,

Wow, what a cool site?! Been browsing all the useful info on this site and although most are related to the US, it really has been helpful!

Well, not sure if anyone can give me some info about the scene in the UK at the moment?! I'm living in South Yorkshire and planning to give dancing a try, any good clubs to recommend? Now, I know from other posts that guys do prefer different size/colour etc.. I'm oriental and speaks prefect English (though not with a Northern accent! ) do you think there is a market here in the North?! Any advice would be much appreciated!

The only thing I know about working in Yorkshire is that it's generally £10 for a nude dance! I work in London, and the standard down here is £20. I know 3 girls from Sheffield, two went home because the whole Northern thing wasn't working for them in London, they did better in Yorkshire. The other one always makes great money in London. http://www.ukstripclubs.com/ this site gives an overview of clubs, but not from a dancer's point of view. You've just got to try it I suppose. Hope that is of some help???

Thanks for the info! Well, I guess I don't really have a northern thing yet, only been here for 1 year, was living in London for years.. seems like the odd one out here as it's a small town and not a lot of Orientals here. I'm training hard to lose some weight and get my confidence up for auditions, how's it working for you down in London? Heard it's quite competitive and bit slow, if it's any good I don't mind doing a few shifts down there. let us know!

Have a look at www.strip-magazine.com and www.mypole.co.uk which both have a fair bit of background information. I don't know where you live in Yorkshire but nearly every decent sized place has at least 1 club, Leeds has 9 ! Dances are mainly £10 though some of the posher clubs have £20 ones like London. If you are near Leeds you might try the Blue Box group who have 4 Leeds clubs all with a slightly different format and recruit via an agent.
Wildcat have clubs in Wakefield and Harrogate with new ones opening in Huddersfield, Barnsley, and Leeds in the next month or so. There is a Spearmint Rhino in Sheffield and 2 clubs have just opened in York.

Funny enough, I'm in Sunny Donny..just like yourself! Am thinking of SR in sheffield, doesn't seem to be too far and am more familiar with the area there. What's the clubs in donny are like? Are they busy?! Can't imagine how weekdays are like?! but what do I know huh?!

I'm actually more an expert on the London scene than Doncaster, I live near Bawtry and almost never go into Donny centre at night these days. The 2 clubs in Donny are Purple Door which has been open for 3 or 4 years now and seems to have a decent regular clientelle, and Players which has only been open 6 months and I have not yet met anybody who has been in. Purple Door I have been in once and it's a reasonable enough place and might not be a bad place to start. As well as Spearmint in Sheffield there is Dancing Dollar though that was shut the last time I was in town. DD is in Attercliffe and has been open now for 6 or 7 years. There is also a place in Rotherham which I went in about 3 years ago and seemed OK.

Hiya, im actually on the coast, Cleethorpes if u have heard of it?
Im not acytually dancing at the min, its a long story about parents and dancing too lcose to home but i know there is a good club in Skegness called Flirtz which i might go to when i finally move out.
I'd just reccomend visitin as many clubs in your area as possible and seein which ones seem nicer, talk to some of the dancers there. If its a good atmosphere, take things further
