    Default language immersion programs?

I really need to learn a second language. I kind of know Spanish but last night at the club I saw one girl do so well with a Spanish speaking group. I did do well with that group as well but my spanish is just so horrible.

I heard about a language immersion program up in Canada. I'm thinking I might try to do a program this summer if I can.

Does anyone know anything about any language immersion programs anywhere? Help!

My grandmother used to be a French teacher and she went to this immersion camp a couple of times. They were there for two weeks at some campground in middle Tennessee (with cabins, electricity, showers, etc., not too rustic) and only French was allowed. They watched movies in French with no subtitles, had to do all their conversation in French, etc. It was really sweet, my grandfather had a poem translated into French and wrote it out on a pretty card and sent it to her while she was there.

She got a lot out of it. I think they still have those, but I don't know of any Spanish ones. You could always just go to Mexico or Puerto Rico for awhile and improve your Spanish that way.

All I know really is some PC language programs - you will need to have a headset. But I use the Talk Now! language CD, here's some info about it on amazon.com...

Plus is there any college's near you that do any night course's to help you learn Spanish?

My husband did one a few years ago in Costa Rica. He loved it, and he says it's the best way to learn a language.

if you really want to learn the spanish language why dont you go to a spanish speaking country?! lol i dont see how canada will be all that great.

i studied spanish for 5 years at school, i was in the top 5 in my class, yet i learnt nothing compared to my friend who went to argentina with no spanish skills for 11 months. she came back 90% fluent. i still feel wrauted!! haha

sta travel have language immersion packages- they provide accommodation, and organise classes. since your so close to central america, you might as well use that to your advantage!

I second the STA travel immersion programs. I'm planning on doing one this April in Mexico.
