    Default Stair Stepper

My husband's ex wife left behind a cheap stair stepper in the exercise room and I decided to use it since everything else will probably go in the bankruptcy. I'm really proud of myself for even getting on the thing at all, and it says I did 100 steps.

My question is, what muscles does a stair steppper work out? I know definitely my quads, because they're BURINING right now, but what else? Does it also work the buttocks and abs, because those are my 3 target problem areas...

well, I'll preface with "no exercise can 'trouble spot', only a clean diet, cardio, and weights can change your shape" but the stair stepper is an excellent workout for the entire leg, as well as butt. It also is terrific cardio (I can run for miles, but 10 minutes on the stepper and I'm dying) so it can help rim off excess pounds too

yeah, definitely your glutes and hamstrings....and you have to concentrate on your core area (keep it tight during exercise) if you want to get your abs too. Avoid doing it on your toes to get the maximum benefit for your butt.

Also, don't lean over and hang on the rails. I see women do that all that time at the gym. Stand up straight, use the rails only to keep your balance and keep your abs contracted.
