    Default My tummy :(

    Okay so stupid stupid stupid me... I came to this booking on Monday.. I was sick as hell with a migraine and upset stomach from taking the pain meds for my shoulder and couldn't keep any food down.... come tues I still couldn't really eat much and then well I just forgot to eat till Fri... yea I went all week without eating(but drinking plenty of water). Fri night I had a salad.. couldn't eat much and felt sick after eating... yesterday(Sat) I had yogurt for breakfast, felt sick after eating it... then I had chicken fingers for dinner... felt okay, not super but ok after.. then after work one of the DJs got me fries from McDonalds, I had a handful and felt sick... anything I eat or drink just makes my stomach feel upset and bloated...

    This is defiantly my fault for not eating but damnit I just wanna get my stomach to like me again How can I get it to settle and let me actually eat? I've been trying to eat a little at a time since my stomach isnt used to having food in it now... I just get a bloated icky nauseous feeling...

    Bright side to this is I lost almost 8 pounds in the week lol... but umm its not healthy.. and I swear this isnt something I usually do.. I just started the week off wrong... coming into the booking sick and then just getting caught up working I just forgot to eat.. I didnt even feel hungry at all this week...

    maybe just try bland, dry stuff... like crackers. ease back in slowly perhaps?

    plain rice, plain pasta and water crackers. nothing spicey or creamy, just plain.

    My tummy has felt the exact same way. I didn't eat much of anything all week and when I tried to get down maybe a half can of soup or something my tummy hated me. I've just been taking tummy medicine and drinking lotsa water and juice.

    I had a stomach virus two weeks ago and was told by ladies here on SW to try the BRAT diet for a few days to help settle my tummy. It worked. I didn't throw any of it up, or felt too bad.

    It's in a thread I started called safe food if you feel like looking for it. I really think that by eating those foods (Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) for a day or two, your tummy will settly. Mine did, those foods worked like a charm!

    I second the BRAT foods. Those are smooth and easy on the digestive tract. Feel better soon! You need your energy, you busy bunny.

    Maybe some broth or light soups would be easy on your stomach and still have some flavor.

    I was going to suggest Beef and chicken broth too. Protein and salts to keep your electrolytes up.

    DIGESTIVE ENZYMES and aloe vera juice. Go to a health food store and get some flavored aloe vera (the non-flavored will make you think you just drank poison) juice, that'll sooth your digestive track. That'll last about 4days-a week. For the longer run, I suggest starting to take digestive enzymes... pills that contain extra enzymes to break down your food more properly and help you digest/absorb. Look for Wobenzym-n, or Garden of Life's Omega-zyme (it looks like Q-Zyme, but it's the "omega" symbol, can't find it on SW sorry!)... there are a few out there that could really help you.

    Also... increase your daily fiber. The main reason you feel bad is that you starved yourself all week and then you ate .. fries. my stomach would feel bad too. Don't worry- you'll feel better. You're coming to california, remember!

    No no no I starved myself then had a salad with no dressing

    Then I had yogurt... then I had chicken fingers.. THEN I had fries lol

    Now I just ate breton crackers and a huge ass glass of milk... not before having two malibu and orange No one ever said I was smart lol

    Ginger can help with the nausea. I've used tablets and raw ginger before with great success.

    Try to introduce foods gradually and in small amounts. The BRAT diet is great. Don't make the mistake of eating too little, it can cause major problems. It may take several weeks of eating regularly (small amounts) to feel better.

    I had a stomach flu back several years ago and this happened to me. I didn't eat for 4 or 5 days, then when I tried to it was the worst pain ever. I only ate maybe half a single serve of applesauce a day and some Gatorade for about 6 weeks. I had to be hospitalized for 8 days, for low potassium, palpatations, low blood pressure and dehydration. My skin was grey and looked crepy, and I lost so much muscle that I looked horrible for a while. Don't let this happen to you, I felt so bad that when I talked to one of the nurses later she said I told her that if they couldn't fix me I just wanted to die.

    I eat lots of raw ginger and ginger dresing on my salad. My friend told me it can bloat you. It is high in anitoxidants. i only eat healthy. I am cut off from the bomb NYC slices, not even a marinara slice for me.
    But for the super bowl party I may splurge and make a chicago deep dish. Yummy.

    ^^Ginger won't bloat you. It's very good for relaxing the guts (up there with peppermint and fennel).

    i thought i was the only one dumb enough to skip eating and get "i wanna die" sick, LOL. Yeah just lots of small amounts of bland food and enzymes and ginger really helps. and lots of liquids. I am just recovering myself.

    Ginger ale and saltines. Stay away from the dairy and the salad. The BRAT method that was mentioned will help too, I learned that one in Parenting 101 when my son was little and had stomach bugs.
