    Default Night sweats

Hi guys, I have a problem. The last few nights I have been having night sweats, I wake up with my clothes and bed soaked. I feel kind of ran down and tired but I don't have any other symptoms of being ill. I think I might just being trying to fight something off. Anyone else experience this?

I do, but only because I'm menopausal. You may want to get your hormones checked. Also, do you have a window open or anything? I find I get them if, ironically, I'm too cold while sleeping. Fun, aren't they? Nothing like waking up to a sopping wet, freezing cold bed.

Yeah, that may be true because I have down on my bed and it tends to stay cold. Plus, I sleep in the back of the house where it does tend to be cooler. I live with my grandma and she keeps the heat at about 70, so it's actually like 68 where I sleep. She says she gets hot. I might ask if she wants to trade places.

There are a lot of causes for night sweats. Obviously menopause is the most commonly recognized culprit but it can be anything from a viral infection to medication you're currently taking...

I have this too, about twice a week I wake up in a freezing room, completely naked (I throw off my jammies when I get hot in my sleep), uncovered, and burning up/covered in sweat. I'm not sure what causes it either....

i get it too, and im only 22 years old, lol... heres my theory... i think its temp CHANGES throughout the night that causes it... i get warm, so i snuggle under the blankets... then i start to get sweaty cuz its hot and the heat has kicked on for a few minutes... so then i take the blankets off.... the sweat makes you freeze, and the cycle continues... thats my theory for it, honestly, because the last like week while i've been sleeping on the living room floor (lol, we're rearranging the house) i've woken up completely soaked, every morning... and i know for a fact i dnt have a thyroid problem, because i tested for that two weeks ago i'd personally try and make it colder in the house... and wash your sheets cuz if its a viral thing, you dnt want to help it stick around...

Do you remember your dreams? I get bad nightmares, and I wake up in a sweat.

I also agree about the temp changes like Honey said. maybe it's a combo of both.

Try adding another blanket to the bed and see if that helps. For me, it doesn't matter too much if the room is too cold, as long as I am not!

Here are a few causes of Night Sweats if it will help at all....

    CAUSES OF NIGHT SWEATS

    Menopause
Menopause in women is the most common cause of night sweats.

    HIV, tuberculosis.
In fact, any infectious disease or condition that brings on a fever can cause night sweats.

    Diabetes Insipidus.

Diabetes insipidus can also cause night sweats.

    Sleep apnea.
This is the one that most concerns us. Night sweats can also be a sign of sleep apnea. If you also suffer from severe snoring and excessive daytime sleepiness, it might be time for a study.

    Alcohol, some drugs, spicy foods.
Consumption of any of these can cause night sweats. And by drugs, I'm not necessarily referring to street drugs. Some prescription drugs, like Zoloft, can also cause night sweats.

I get night sweats all the time and I don't have any of the above. I think it's just something you get sometimes. It never happens to me in the summer, just a winter thing as far as I can tell.

I used to get them often when Im having bad dreams and nightmares. I wake up soaking from head to toe. I get embarassed when Im sleeping with a guy and it happens. Spicy foods to HIV eh? lol Seems like almost anything can bring the night sweats on then. Sometimes it helps when I stick my feet out to cool me down. Or try clearing your head before you sleep with some object or music.
