If you saw my "Snowing in Arizona" thread, you'll know that it's been snowing for about 4 hours now and sticking, etc. I've heard that the east cost is uncharacteristically warm, while it's colder than usual out on the west coast.
Anyone know why?

Deforestation and climate change.

Nature is unpredictable. I don't know if it matters, but it is an el Nino year.
I just don't want to walk to class in it tomorrow.![]()
Im supposed to drive tomorrow to take my car to the shop. I dunno how the East side is by you HK, but over here in Vail you can hardly see where you're going in the car ....
I keep hearing that SoCal is getting freeze warnings and snow, but it's fucking hot here in Hollywood. I had to sleep with the windows open last night, wearing shorts. I think all the snow is in Malibu... no idea why they get all the pretty weather and we just get the usual.

It looks like it has just about stopped falling, but the ground is pretty much covered.
I imagine it will be gone by tomorrow mid-morning.
My grandparents think that it's the end of the world. So that would explain it LOL....It's freezing cold here in Snottsdale and it's been raining for a few hours. Fine by me..we get more than enough sunshine.

I'd love to wake up to snow in the morning. Have it melt just in time for a safe drive to work. Yeah that'd be nice.
Drive Carefully, places that don't usually get snow don't know how to prepare for it etc.

^^^ Yeah, we had people going 15 mph in a 45 zone....

Rain or monsoon type rain? Once the rain was so hard in Georgia, we had to pull on the side of the road, visibility was zero.

^^^ Thats normal in our monsoons, but HK was talking about ANY type of rain![]()
I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a grandparent who says this! I just got a phone call from my grandpa who swears by the farmer's almanac and he told me that Arizona has snow.. then said, "I tell ya (insert my real name) its the end of the god damn world, right before our eyes.. snow in damn arizona.. heat waves in New york"
And.....
Henny penny was walking one day and felt a bop on her head, "the sky is falling the sky is falling" and around the corner comes turkey lurkey...![]()
Do you have a snow shovel?

Eh?
They make special shovels for snow?

^Yep, curved and wide, easier to scoop it up. Then you need to spread rock salt on the path you cleared so the remainder does not freeze into ice.

Fuck that, my car doesn't need that crap on it to rust it when it'll just be gone in a day or two
There's a reason Arizona cars have higher resale value....

Well you don't drive your car on the walkway right?

If it's of any interest, it got down to lows of 33 degrees in Chula Vista (5 miles north of mexico, right under sd), and down to lows of like 40 in San Diego itself a week or so ago.
Also Iowa City had no snow to be seen on Christmas day.
WEIRD.
