    Default Biz trips & eating

Damn, damn. I have been pigging out--deserts with lunch for fucksakes--and drinking at nite.

I hate these trips. Just as bad, I haven't been able to hit the hotel gym like I planned because of the way sessions and dinners are scheduled.

    Arrrgh!!!

how about trying to schedule gym time for the morning? As far as drinking at night, why not get a club soda or something like that? It is really hard going on biz trips and having meetings at top restaurants with all the rich sauces and gravy. Dam, that sounds good.

My only advice would be to start your workout in the morning, or when you get in at night. most gyms in a hotel are 24hr.

I have given up on eating real food. No one should ever have to do what I am doing. I have no need for food. Water and broth is enough.
But no one at all should be like this with themselves.

I use the mini fridge if there is one in your hotel room. I buy a plate, knife and fork from the local supermarket... as well as some rice cakes, small butter/marg, small jam, small vegemite (or peanut butter or whatever), some snack stuff that only require boiling water to make and use that to snack on so that I do not eat too much when I eat out.

When I do eat out, I will choose a meal that has a high protein content and/or lots of vegies and have alot of water with the meal so then I feel too full to have anything else (such as dessert).

If you do want desserts, choose something that isn't the less evil as such.

Plus there are plenty of little exercises you can do IN your hotel room. You can do sit ups, push ups, crunches, lunges etc etc.

You just have to re-train yourself.

Oh.. I also try to walk alot when I am working away from home.. and I find it easy as I don't have the luxury of a car and moped motorcycle in the garage to tempt me to not walk anywhere.... plus using taxis can be expensive.

Honestly, I eat healthy as fuck 320 days outta the year. So I dont worry if I scarf down a burger or pizza one or two days outta each month. Or If I'm on vaca. If this is just a blip on your radar ignore it and go back to healthy habits at home

Was too busy--eating & drinkin' & enjoying the company of a sexy Amazon--last night to check this thread. 14 replies in one day! A personal record.

The best advice, I guess, is that I shouldn't beat myself up too much and simply get back on track when I return home in a day. I think part of my upset, aside from work stress, is the simple loss of routine.

I will do some situps & pushups now before going down to breakfast.

No booze today! No bread! And definitely NO dessert at lunch!

Update: 30 pushups; 150 situps; some stretching. Perhaps I can hit the gym before tonight's highjinx.

Maybe you should see a doctor (and a dentist! Eating disorders destroy the teeth and gums). It sounds like your health is at risk. Do you want to be osteoperotic at forty?

    good on you, CE.

it really is shitty flying around, eating wretched plane food, eating weird things at places you find, as well as livin' it up. i totally know how 'gluggy' you end up feeling.

i think the benefits of a 'routine' are understimated. even fun trips end with me dying to get home to 'proper food' and exercise. (not to mention MY pillow)
