    Default I got a pole!!!

So I recently bought a lil mynx pro pole of craigslist for 300 bucks...yeah!!! I am so sore but did my first invert tonight. Its frustrating when i invert cause i slid down so fast i dont have time to postion my body. It's stainless and I have to wipe it down after almost every move. Anyway woohoo...if anyone is in San Marcos and wants to practice(or teach me *ahem*) you guys are welcome to come by.

I have a stainless lil minx too, it's such a pain! I use gymnasts chalk so I can stay up there to do my tricks and actually grab the pole without falling to the floor right away.

Metholated Spirits !!! I swear by it. I like it because it disinfects too ! I either spray the metho directly on the pole and let it dry or spray it on a paper towel and wipe the pole down with that....

I have been using alcohol to wipe it down cause windex leaves a film. I bought some stuff called no-slip from the golf store but it makes it impossible to spin at first and then when it heats up, stupidly, it makes my hands slippery. I think Im just going to try and strengthen my grip...that or use matte leather gloves until I get the moves down...I dont know this is new to me. Im excited though cause ive learned about 4 new (albeit simple) moves in about two days. Woot! Now if I could only lose some weight and show them off at work.

Most of it comes with time...as long as you are doing it right!

Please remember how dangerous poledancing can be if you dont protect yourself! Please use mats or pillows under you when trying inverts and flips. Also stretch daily to prevent injury!

    Alena,
I just checked out "Sensual Dance" on youtube and WOW. You are so beautiful and graceful (I'm sure others on SW are too...I just haven't seen you.) I have seen a lot of strippers pole dance at clubs and it has looked choppy. However, it almost looked as though it was a fluid extension of your body. My pole arrived today, my fiancee will set it up over the weekend while I'm away and when I return on Sunday I'm going to just practice dancing around it. Then I will sign up for your class with some glimmer of hope that I could possibly look the way you did. Congrats on all the hard work you have put in, and to all the others on SW that have put all the hard work it takes to be a dancer. Some day I'll be there too!

    Hello girls .

Just reading through threads and thought I'd share.

Em, I am so excited for you girl; Have fun!

However, I have read of incidents involving individuals experiencing allergic reactions to the residues in Windex reacting to the properties of the metal on several posts on this site. You may benefit from exploring these for yourself .

    Just my 2 .

Skin rashes can be so irritating; no pun intended

Anyone have the regular one (painted in red/black/pink)? Is it as slippery?
