Thumbs up The Stipper's Guide to Beauty

Reading that thread about "The View"'s stripper beauty tips, I thought, "Hey they're half right".

We as dancers make a living looking great, we have a ton of tips and ideas! So I thought I'd start a thread where we could share our beauty tips all in one thread for dancers and non- dancers alike!

Share your beauty tips; it can be on hair, makeup, nails, skin care, shaving/waxing, etc. What cool tips and advice do you have? It can be something like how to make waxing less painless, etc. Even if it's something not thought of, natural, etc. like even applying toothpaste to zits, share it here!

Dancers, retired or not, and any other ladies encouraged to contribute.

I mix biosilk's silk therapy serum into my conditioner and leave it on while I shave my legs. It makes a HUGE difference.

white sugar as a body exfoliant
brown sugar as a face exfoliant
a q-tip with a bit of spit will remove waterproof liquid eyeliner mistakes.

I use ethnic hair care products on my own blonde hair. Since it is made for dry, coarse hair, its more powerful than regular hair care products. Works wonders on my hair. I espicially like Chlosterol hair creme. I put it on after I wash once a week, and let it sit all night, and rinse out before bed.

Look at your eye color. See the little flecks of color in them? Like, my green eyes have tiny specks of gold. I use a goldish brown eye shadow to bring out the color of my eyes. If you have blue eyes with gray specks of color, try using a grayish eyeshadow.

Apply vasoline to your feet, put on socks, and got to bed. In the AM, your feet will be nice and soft.

Brush your body every day with a dry boar bristle brush before you shower. It will exfoliate off the dead skin cells and make your skin soft.

I will throw a couple in that i often used.

When i got a zit and had to work, i would put a dot of black liner right on the zit. It came out looking like a mole.

When i had no time to wash the hair, i would put baby powder through it absorbing any oily look i may have had.

Always took two different pairs of shoes. They break, alot on us at work.

If i had red eyes (lack of sleep) i found blue liner with my brown made the whites of my eyes look ALOT whiter! Blue does this.

    I have many....but it's early.

I love Chlosterol hair creme too..I use it at least once a week on my fried brittle hair and I actually get compliments on how soft it is!

I also use stick deoderant on my crotch after shaving...I rarely get razor burn even shaving every day.

    Eyes are my specialty!

If you can manage an eye pencil better, but prefer the look of liquid liner, run the tip of the pencil over a lighter (fast!) and then apply.

For extra POP on your eyes, don't be shy with mascara. Make it the first thing you put on, and don't be delicate, coat the whole lash, get the brush in there! No need to worry about being clean because when you get it all over your eyelids you can use a q-tip with remover to clean up... then apply the rest of your make-up.

Wow Brooke - you're really pretty! I especially like the 3rd photo.

    Ummmm oh yeah...beauty tips...

I find that putting white eyeliner on the inside of your lower eye lid and the inside corner makes your eyes "open up" really well. It makes small eyes appear bigger. In reverse, making big eyes smaller simply requires black eyeliner on the inside and outside corners of the eye, with black along the inside of the lower lid as well.

Tend Skin is fabulous for razor bumps or ingrown hairs anywhere, especially the bikini area. But beware, it sort of glows under black light, so I would put it on several hours before work. To relieve overall shaving irritation, take a bath with a little bit of mineral salts and massage oil.

Mayonaise for dry or overbleached hair. Leave on for a few hours and then rinse out (overnight if you can stand the smell). I imagine it works very similarly to the cholesterol, since eggs have a lot of cholesterol in them.

Coconut oil is good for hair too, especially dreadlocks.

I just bought Sally Hansons white chocolate microwave waxing kit....this is my first real attempt at at home waxing(I've tried the cold strips before..they did nothing) and I LOVE it!!! I used it to shape my eyebrows and it was SO easy and more painless then the salon. It is my new beauty "trick"!

Wow, these are all really good tips, im going to have to come to this thread from now on for my beauty tips!
Something that helps to remove the red out of zits and blochy spots on your face is Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Fading Peel. Its 15 bucks for a tiny bottle but it does wonders. It may sting a little at first but you can see the results almost instantly. I use it about once a week.
Also, for fast teeth whitening Rembrandt 2-Hour White Formula. Its 20 bucks for two tiny little tubes as well, (or 4..) but it works instantly. I love the two of these. Its quite the cost, but i think both of these products are really worth it.

Except for the fact that I watch what I eat (and don't drink or anything), I do whatever I want. Then I cover it all up with foundation and powder.

As for makeup tips, layering liquid and stick foundation and applying liquid liner to my top lid both work well for me. So do lots of pinks. Also leave-in conditioner helps my natural waves set sans frizz.

I use orajel(numbing gel for the mouth) on my eyebrows when i need to pluck them..I put babypowder on my bikini line after shaving..shave my legs with body butter. My hair is naturally curly and can be VERY dry so i use hair treatments as
conditioner. After putting on lipgloss i dab a little bit of white eyeshadow on the middle of my lower lip to make them look more..idk "pouty" Just make sure its shimmery and not matte lol.

oh yeah and allergy drops to take the redness out of damn zits.

Thanks! I'm not an expert on doing my makeup, but I'll have to try it sometime.
