Again.
BabyPookster is home alone all weekend, and wants to watch a movie...
However...the last few times I've attempted this movie watching process its left me wanting to puke all over Hollywood.
Would I be risking my IQ if I watched Sin City?

it had so much potential, but then just got long-winded and whacky.
if you loop jessica dancing for 2 hours... different story.
good luck
I LOVED sin city...cant wait for the sequal. If you like old film noir type films...you'll like this. It is that style(but updated)
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.
I loved it too.
If you like Tarantino flicks and old noir movies, you'll probably like it.

I'd say most people liked it. I'm in the minority that thought it was a waste of time. (I really didn't like that movie.)
I liked it. It was really... different.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I thought it sucked. Jessica Alba is hot though, so she made it worth it![]()
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

very different. very violent. jessica alba not that hot.

I walked out on it in the theatre. How's about a nice violent classic, like Bonnie and Clyde?
It tried real hard to be different for the sake of being different. But all in all, good style. If you like comic graphic novels, you'll like it. If you can't take pounding depression in movies, try something else.
If you enjoy watching women being glamourously slapped around put it on. I wasn't actually impressed with the style. It looked to me like those posters that used to be popular - the black and white ones of the little children with isolated splashes of colour - but with hot girls instead of little kids. A little bit cliche rather than wildly stylish.
I have taught that the sky in all its zones is mortal and its substance was formed by a process of birth

Hmmm. Mixed reviews. All in all it doesn't sound like something that will interest me, but I'll give it a chance....if I'm not enthralled a half hour in...
Its gonna be Harry Potter again instead....
Thanks for the input, guys and gals.

I liked Sin City but I was also kinda disappointed by it too. It had a lot of potential but it never really reached it.
I thought it sucked but it won't kill you to watch it. If you start thinking it sucks do what I do, put it on fast play and watch the rest of it really fast and stop if a scene seems interesting.
O.K. KIDS! PEE WEE's words of the day... "Noir" and "Graphic Novel" OoOOooooh!
Speaking of the word noir... L.A. Confidential is a bad ass movie. Apparently it's a crime noir flick. Whatever that means.
and did you know? In Pulp Fiction Vincent Vega is reading a graphic novel in the toilet scene in the dinner, and before he is shot.
Only reason I know these things www.IMDB.com. I tweaked out on it the other night looking up my favorite movies.
maaaaaaaaaaan. im going to sleep now.
i thought it was really good!
Harry Potter huh? Well if you had to compare it to any Harry Potter movie I'd have to go with Goblet of Fire. They both have parts where you think it's going to cross the boundary to be something great, but something just holds it back. (That's just the way I feel about Potter films though, damn the books for ruining the cinematic experience. Though I do still watch them, but hmmm, I think the gist is clear.) Both movies high points are more on the way they are done than the story they try to convey. Themewise Sin City is more mature and there are scenes that might seem a bit disturbing, such as a talking head. (I thought it was kinda funny though.) I think the high point of Sin City is how all the stories are intertwined at the end. If you don't watch the whole movie you really miss out on some things, might not appreciate it as much..... Did you already watch it? I forgot to check the date on the thread. What did you think of it? Guess that's a question for after you watch it.
The more I see, the less I know, the more I like to let it go! - RHCP
That would be a bit of pulp fiction (in keeping with the film's title) called Modesty Blaise. I've read it, and it's just okay.Originally Posted by sleepyboy

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"
Sin City has a hot lesbian scene and a town of gun-toting hookers. You HAVE to see it!
