I have no experiance with a titanium pole, but I like brass because it's sticky. Unfortunately I have a steel one at home. I don't know of any benefits for a steel one except that it's prettier.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I'm definitely no pole expert, but I have played around on a few different types and I liked the stickiness of Brass, I shall agree wif Bella on this.
When I first started doing pole work I preferred brass because it helped me with my grip for certain hangs and stuff.
Now I prefer stainless steel because I can get faster spins and its better for quicker transitions.

::doesn't know the difference of poles danced with::
lol

*wonders if Callys afraid of poles after falling off* Hmmm...wait a minute....

I don't care either way. Brass gets the stickiness...steel gets the speed...and a friend has a titanium pole that she loves...but, being that I was 9 months preggers when I was there, I didn't try it out. It looks good, though.
My old club had a 3 inch steel pole...I hated it. I couldn't get a good grip on it since my hands were to small to effectively hold the pole. If it's going to be a steel pole, it's got to be only 2" diameter.
Brass, hands down.
Brass, easily. You can lotion your hands to make it slippy like a steel pole. You can't grippify a steel pole as easily.

Brass--though I have never tried titanium--what's good about it?
Spinning poles are cool, but I'd rather just have a good, easy grip.
I am thinking of getting one for my loft apartment right now, there's a wood beam it would be perfect to attach one to. But trying to buy a brass pole in Key West could be tricky, lol...

I prefer stainless... as long as there is NO LOTION AT ALL on it... some clubs I work at girls wear lotion or oil and lie about it... then it's pointless to even try pole tricks. I used to like brass better... but anymore if I do faster tricks it just rips me apart by the end of the night.

brass is the best for stickiness
but what happens when you learn all these sweet tricks on brass, and you go into a club with a stainless steel pole, and you can't do any of your tricks because you can't keep your grip?
better to train with the most difficult poles - that way you can dance on ALL of them.
Djoser, the Titanium poles have the grip of brass poles, but with the look of the chrome poles. My friend that has it said that it's better than brass and chrome.
One of these days I'll try it out for myself.
Doh!!! I've used those a zillion times!! They're awesome polesA couple of the clubs i've worked at lately have had them. I still prefer stainless steel though.... brass rips my body to pieces when im trying to do quick transitions... and there are a lot of different grips and hangs that make the brass rip you apart. Stainless steel allows for quick spins, a decent grip and doesnt rip you apart.

I'll tell you what happened to me, I immediately slid upside down very rapidly, and even if I managed to slow my descent enough to avoid serious injury by instinctively compressing the crook of my arm on the pole (so hard it bruised purple the next day), I still hit my head on the stage floor, lol.
Titanium sounds like the winner, though I don't think brass looks bad at all--depends on the color scheme of the club or home the pole is in, I suppose.
I got used to the stainless steel, since I worked in that club a year and a half, but I still prefer brass.

Brass all the way.

Brass brass brass.
i have a black paint- powder coated one from lil mynx and I hate it! I can't get a grip for the life of me. their website said its better than stainless for grip and this is false.
See my experience with the powder coated poles(I have one at home) has been it has way too much grip... like its worse then brass poles... Maybe im just weird though![]()

In a dark club, I think brass looks better. But I've only danced in one club with brass poles, it fits well with their theme and looks very classy. As for function, I'm not a pole trick girl so I don't know.

nice to know.
im just about to invest in a pole for home and the lil minx powder coated would be about $100 cheaper than platinum stages removable brass pole but id rather spend more for something i have used and i know i will like than be cheap and feel like i wasted my money.
I agree with you on this Kalligirl.
I was soo close to coppin one of these, with price being a motivating factor, until I checked it out up close.
Although, some girls seem to have no probs on it...
However, I guess if one learns on it, growing accostumed to it and having nothing else to compare it to, then one might prefer it?
Word Cally; same here.
It's like waxing, except instead of ripping your hair, it is actually the top layer of your skin that's behing peeled off by friction (behind the knees & thighs - YEOUCHY).
Or perhaps more comparable to the nostalgic indian burn (What can I say? I grew up with nothing but boys; a gift and a curse; LoL).
