    Default Working towards a goal?

I started stripping because I wanted to try it out and all, satiate my curiousity and all that, but my financial reasons were to pay off my credit card debt and save up money because my day job money pretty much just goes into bills and doesn't get saved. I REALLY want to save up money for a down payment for a house, and I've been wondering if mentioning this to guys helps, hurts, or doesn't do anything. When they ask about me and all that, I give them the basic details as to where I am with my life and I wonder if me saying that I'm working really hard to buy a house will make them respect what I'm doing and want to help out a hard working pretty girl with a goal. Or will it not make a difference...? I don't want it to sound like a line or like I'm pressuring them to give me money, but I wonder if it might help just a little if they feel like they helping me and I really appreciate it? Any suggestions?

very interesting doll, was thinking this lately. I am doing it for money and cos i wanted to, i want them to know im poor and hit hard times or else they wont tip well! If i acted liek it was all a big hoot then they wouldnt bother paying me!!
I dont want a house or anything, not studying anymore and kinda wish i had tangible goals, besides getting back in the black because it seems so pointless sometimes!

There are a few threads out there that talk about the "White Knight" syndrome that some guys. There are guys out there who love to feel like they are helping agirl, or taking care of her...and some of the threads talk about how to market that angle or at least figure out how to make it work. Maybe do a search for it?
    Good Luck

Try it! I am honest with some guys when they ask what got me into dancing. It seems to be a turn on that I like investing and the idea of property ownership to those financial planner types and the ones that are also smart with their money.

I think you will TURN OFF more customers than you will gain. The "White Knight" is out there, but he is very rare and dying breed.

MOST guys don't come into a strip club to hear dancers whine about how poor they are. The majority of them can go home and listen to their wives/ex-wifes/girlfriends bitch about the house/car/savings account that THEY want. Moreover, it makes YOU look weak and pathetic. Do you want to hang out with someone weak and pathetic? Probably not. Would you PAY a weak and pathetic person to hang out with you? Absolutely not!

Keep in mind also that we dancers often have higher income than many of our customers. Be sensitive to the guy who "only" makes $60K (which is about $700 per week after taxes) He too may be saving up for a house, and your conversation may snap him back to reality, close his wallet, and walk out the door. One of my best and favorite customers is a paramedic. He probably makes about 40K a year. He saves up for a few weeks and then comes in and takes me to VIP. He may not be wealthy, but he'll spend money if you treat him right.

My advice: Keep the conversation light, fun, and flirty. Tell them you love stripping because you're an exhibitionist, or your horny, or you like looking at other naked women.

I agree 100% with britneyireland. I find it better to leave out that kind of detail and just say you started dancing because you were curious and thought it'd be fun. Most guys respond MUCH better to that.

I have abandoned giving guys any type of info like that - it's too much reality and MOST of them aren't interested. I don't get the White Knight types because of this, but I don't want or need them and as britney said, they are a rare breed anyway. If asked, I tell the story of how I got introduced to the business (true story but it's good) and then I just say that I still do it because I LIKE it. If they press, I say I can get a good regular job (and have done so) but I like stripping better, it's just more FUN! "Besides, where else do I get to act slutty and play with men all night for a living??" Or something similar. This works (guess I should say almost cuz I can't be totally sure) all the time.

To maximize money, you want to appeal to as many men as possible, NOT limit yourself to a few you think might pay more.

LOL! It's not that great a story, it's just good for talking to customers.

I was 22 and out in the French Quarter one night with friends. Some of the clubs there have the doors totally open out to the street, so people can see girls dancing inside as they walk by. We passed by one of those clubs, drunk of course. The guys wanted to go in, the other girls were ok with it, I didn't want to go. I was SOOO green, thought it would be some horrible thing. I was outvoted, so we all went in. First girl I saw on stage was this cute girl in a long red dress who just looked like she was having a blast up there, flirting with everybody and being the star. I thought it looked like great fun. Then as we stayed longer I saw all the money floating around and what the girls were doing for it, and the light bulbs started flashing. I just thought "hey I can do that!"

So I dragged my friends to other clubs to help me shop around for the next 2 weeks, found one I liked and asked to audition.

I had no idea what to wear, but the manager had told me I'd need a thong to audition. So I went to a stripper store down the street (Bourbon Street) and bought myself a PURPLE thong with the triple-strap spider front, and wore that underneath my little plaid BEIGE miniskirt and plain white baby tee shirt, with birkenstock sandals - that's what I walked into the club wearing and I went onstage just like that. LOL!!

I got hired and told I'd have to buy some outfits. The irony of the whole thing is that *I* was the one who didn't want to go into such a trashy place in the beginning. hehe

Of course when telling this to drunk dudes in a loud club I use the abridged version so I get it out in a minute or less, but it's still very effective for my purpose, which is to make them laugh a little and see me as this fun spontaneous chic who just likes the job. Then I go in for the kill

^I don't ever act broke. They can tell I do well, so I play on it. It makes me look in demand and desired, therefore desirable. The broke thing does not work for me.

Getting back on track (although i love bridgette stories) ...

piper eve: i would say that when i bought my house, telling guys i was buying helped conversation move along, as they would ask where i was looking etc and since i had researched it fully i could talk the talk. but as for saying that i was trying to make my down payment money, that sounds WAY too "hi give me money NOW" ish. i would leave that out, but i would say that i am in the market for houses. that would work out better for you.

    Love it!
