    Default Gather round the campfire...

Perchance watching skeery movies is getting me all worked up....

Was wondering, who here has had an experience with the paranormal? Seen an entity of some sort, or experienced it in another way.

I've been interested in these sorts since I lived in an extremely haunted house at one point in my life.

I wanna hear some ghost stories.

Anybody have any experiences worth sharing?

I finally SAW someone in my house a couple nights ago. I thought it was Mox walking into the bedroom, but no...he was standing in the kitchen. Weird...it was a tall man (not sure who).

I see my cat and my dog plays her same old tricks on me sometimes (same things she did when she was alive).

My great-grandmother (not sure it was her...just a hunch) knocked a shelf off the wall in my bathroom and turned the light off when I was in the shower. It was the first mother's day after she passed away and I was crying and missing her...go figure...

It was the summer of 1964, and I had just completed 6th grade. My parents had divorced and I spent the summer traveling with my father. He had to go to a small town deep in the pine forests of East Texas and I spent the time touring the area with the sons of one of Dad's co-workers.

We were hiking in the woods and came upon a small cemetery. As will happen with pre-teen boys, we parked ourselves about 50 yards from the cemetery and we began trading scary stories. After about thirty minutes or so we saw something at the far end of the cemetery. It really didn't have any form, but was a column of bluish-white lite. It almost looked like someone in a robe.

It traveled to the end of the cemetery nearest us, about 100 yards or so away from us. Sometimes it looked so close we could almost reach out and touch it, then we'd look again and it seemed farther away.

We finally decided that if anything looking like that wanted to hang around cemeteries late at night, we wanted to do no business with it, so we went back to their home. It was about an hour walk and they said that they had never been in that area before and were completely unaware of the cemetery.

We told our fathers about what we had seen and, of course, no one believed us. Our credibility really went downhill when none of the adults recalled a cemetery at the location we described. We returned to what we thought was the correct location the following day, but never found a cemetery. It is quite possible that our directions were confused, and I returned to my hometown and went on with my life. I did keep in touch over the years with the other two boys.

Years later, I moved to the Dallas area and they were also living here. The older of the two brothers mentioned that he had always wondered about that cemetery and that the two of them had tried to find it and never could, so one day he went to the county records building and checked out some maps. There were only two cemeteries listed in the county records, and neither was anywhere near the area where we had been.

I happen to be one-half Native American by blood, and was raised in the culture of the Mescalero Apache. We do believe in spirits and such, and one thing has occured to me over the years. We may have come upon the site of an old Caddo tribal burial ground, and in that area of Texas it is a possiblity. I never felt threatened by whatever it was, but it was still scary to a 12-year-old boy.

i have a bunch of tiny things that, to me, add up.

first, my mom told me that when i was a baby and she was in the living room of our old house feeding me, i would stop eating and turn my head to look at a corner that was behind me. she said i did it all the time. and then when my brother was born, he did the same thing. she told me we would both just stop and stare at it with our eyes kind of glazed over. second, once i could talk, i always would sit and stare at a grandfather clock that dad's parents had sent to us (he got it at a flea market) and tell my mom about the "man in the clock." and third, my mom has said for as long as i can remember that the house she grew up in was haunted. when my grandma was moving to a new house, i was probably 5 years old. the only thing i remember from that old house was being in a stairwell next to the kitchen, with green walls, and all of a sudden a shadowy man ran past me. i never told my mom about this til a few months ago, thinking it was something i didnt really remember, i had made up in my mind or something, but the funny thing was that there was a stairwell next to the kitchen, and the walls were green.

    kinda creepy!

There is a stage theater in Memphis called the Orpheum, and it's said to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl (about 13) who was hit by a trolley car outside in the 1920's. At the time it was a vaudeville theater and she liked to go to the shows there a lot. Now they do big stage productions, touring Broadway shows, ballets, operas, etc. there; it's large and very ornate.

There have been several sightings and experiences of this ghost, but mine was one time when I went to see "Cats." I was sitting next to my ex-husband and the seat on the other side of me was empty. It was really cold coming from that seat, and there was no way there could've been an air conditioning draft or anything there. Only that seat was cold. And I had that sensation like someone was sitting there, and I kept hearing a young girl laughing and sighing, even though there were no girls anywhere around me. I'm not sure I believe in that stuff, but it was definitely weird.

    Eee. *chills*

My old house, was a run down, wooden house in a backwoods part of the city, along the river. It was up on stilts, because it was an area that flooded for weeks at a time a few times a year. It was a shady area, crimewise, and the the thick woods just across the narrow river added to the overall chilling atmosphere. I always felt a little nervous inside, like someone was watching me. So even though I had my own bedroom, I would sleep in my older sister's bedroom with her. One night, the first time we found out why we always felt weird in the house, I was 8 years old, my sister was 13. Straight across from the bed was the wall that had the door, and the closet. We kept the dim closet light on at night. I was sleeping on the edge, closest to the door, and my sister against the wall. Around 2 am, she shakes me awake - I had my back to the door - and she whispers in this terrified voice for me to look at the door. So of course, I want to do anything but look. She's like "you have to look, there's a man standing by the door!" So I scoot as far as I can toward my sister and turn to look, and sure enough, there is a clear shadow of a tall man standing in front of the door. We are freaking out, smushed against the wall - thinking it was an actual man - but were too shocked to scream for our mom. He started walking toward us, but turned and stepped toward the closet. That was when we noticed that even in the dim closet light that we would have seen his features - it was still just a shadow. We also noticed that in one hand he had an open book, and in the other he had a cup. He just paced back and forth in front of the closet for a few minutes - we finally got enough voice together to yell for our brother across the hall. He ran into the room, flicked on the light, and the form disappeared. No one beleived us for a while, but he showed up again months later and proved us right.

If somebody could explain what this was or means I would sure as shit appreciate it.

Picture it: I'm 7. I think I'm awake, but know that I can't be awake because I hear something (not a man's voice, or a woman's voice. something's voice) say my name. The only way I can describe it, also, is that it sounded like my name was going around me in a circle. Like the voice was a pysical object, going around me in a circle.

Run into my mom's room, she lets me sleep there.

Then, 13 years later, I am sleeping at my mom's house. A different house. I get up at 2 in the morning, look at the clock, lie back down. I hear something (not a man's voice, or a woman's voice. something's voice) say my name. The only way I can describe it, also, is that it sounded like my name was going around me in a circle. Like the voice was a pysical object, going around me in a circle.

I freak the fuck out and run into my mom's room. Tell her what happened. She freaks out, because although she didn't hear the voice that time, she HAD heard it when I was 7 and never forgot it. She just didn't want to tell me because I was a little kid.

Can someone explain what the hell this was? It gave me a bad vibe.

I have had some really bad experiences.
Mine were not ghost but rather demonic entities.
    It really changed my life.
I could never doubt religion ever again.

    a few:
    1. when i was 18 my sister died unexpectedly. a few nights after it happened i was laying in my bed sobbing. i was talking to her and telling her that i wished she was safe and ok, and that i missed her. and that if she could give me a sign she was OK now i'd really like it. and then i heard a noise in my room. i quickly turned on my light to find that one of my trolls that she played with whenever i let her (i used to collect them) had leapt off the shelf it was on. the odd thing was, it was in a row behind other trolls that it woulda had to knock over to fall off like that, but it was the only man down. so i knew it had to do with her.

    2. in college i had an apartment right in front of a graveyard that was around for over 200 of years. every day, my roommate and i would find the same window in the bathroom open, even in the winter. and inevitably each time we'd close it, minutes later it'd be open again. in this same apt my dog would bark maliciously at something but i couldnt see anyone there, and i'd feel like i wasnt alone when i was.

    3. when my grandfather was alive, he had a thing for the radio. always listened to it while smoking his pipe. i remember this about him, even though i was only 6 back then. well thru the years whenever he was talked about in my parents' house, the downstairs kitchen's radio would turn itself on, but the switch would still be at "off" position. sometimes to music and sometimes to static, but it was totally weird. we just knew that he knew we were talking about him and wanted to communicate back. bizarre eh?
(damn you cally for making "eh" part of my vocabulary!!!)

    Love it!

I can be sensitive at times, most times. I can tell if they are there, where they stand, what their demeanor is, and typically their sex and sorta what they might look like. But like.... with my head. I grew up in a house my whole family wondered about, but did not share suspicions with me until I voiced them in adulthood. I also trained with a volunteer group in several abandoned hospitals donated for our use... OMG... those experiences could fill books. Full believer... conducted a few photographic experiments... have a few more I'm tossing around in my head waiting for an opportunity to arise. Most people think I'm nuts... oh well... I know what I have experienced, and I feel sorry for their closed minds.

ooo... and more... for some reason I can only comprehend the intentions of those with more purity of soul (when comparing encounters with others who can sense). I wonder if this is because I have such a pure energy myself. Whenever my aura has been read it is always interpreted as a light silvery pink/purple... I forget exactly how it broke down but when I looked it up it said a very spiritual unique being with almost overly pure naive angelic nature to their energy. I wonder if this keeps me safe from the negative ones (lord knows in the asylums we trained in there were plenty... but whenever they bothered me I could not decipher their words/intentions... only that an expression of extreme intensity was being attempted. For this reason I steer clear of customers whom I do not understand their energy... for others have typically interpreted theirs as negative in the past, confirming these suspicions. I can only feel those with a positive aura.
