    Default Carmex

Who knew something so cheap could be so good? I woke up Saturday morning with some CHAPPED lips, I guess that is what I get for walking out in the cold ass weather without lip protectant on. I hate when you have chapped lips, put vaseline (I'm allergic to lip balms like chapstick) but you still have dry skin on your lips - so, I took a wash cloth and lightly rubbed my lips so there would be no dead chapped skin. Then, I went out and picked up some Carmex *which amazingly I had never used before* and 5 hours later, my lips aren't red and irritated and they feel good.

I think it's the menthol. I'm sure everyone already knows about this, but damn I just had to rave.

Oh yeah, I just put some on a torn cuticle before I opened this thread....

In my "Lotsa Sex All The Time" days, I would use Carmex on my labia for irritation & tears. YEAH, Too Much Info, but it might help someone in a pinch & prevent them from getting an infection. (Obviously, use a brand new tube for Below the Belt application. It's only a buck and change at every corner market.)

I use carmex every night before bed- love it! I go through so much of it, so it's a good thing it is so cheap!

It's my favorite too. It rivals even my best lipglosses as far as shine goes, so during the winter I forego gloss and use Carmex instead.

As a teenager I had dry, peeling skin on my face, so I'd cover my whole face in Carmex every night before bed. It made my skin beautiful, smooth, and tight. It's a great moisturizer. I need to start doing that again.

My fave is a vitamin E stick I buy from Ulta (also @ Whole Foods, health stores), Reviva brand. I also use it under my eyes, & around my nose when I get soreness from allergy attacks.

Oh my....didn't that plug up your pores? I thought it has a beeswax base.

I discovered Carmex when I was in elementary school and I still love it! It's the only thing that helps especially during these cold months. And it works fast.

No, it has a petroleum base like Vaseline.

^^^ That smell is great if your nose is congested. If you smear it all around your nostrils, the menthol opens up your sinuses. Like Vick's Vapo-Rub, but cheaper! Plus it will heal your skin after you rub it raw and red by blowing your nose a lot. When my allergies are acting up, I keep Carmex around my nose and it really helps.
