    Default moving BEAUTIFUL songs

So... I know many clubs don't let girls play slower music... and most girls don't care to dance to it, but I happen to work at one of the fortunate few... and I ultimately enjoy the creative release of dancing to a truly beautiful *shivers up your spine* song on a slow and dull night.

    So let's make a list...

    Mine are:
    Counting Crows- Colorblind
Death Cab for Cutie- Marching Bands of Manhatten
    -Tiny Vessels
The Faint- Ballad of a Paralyzed Citizen
    Faith No More- Zombie Eaters
    Tears For Fears- Mad World
    U2- With Or Without You
Reggie and the Full Effect- Fought and Won One
    R.E.M.- Half a World Away
The Postal Service- This Place is a Prison
The Pixies- Where Is My Mind
The Pillows- Beautiful Morning With You
A Perfect Circle- Weak and Powerless
    Ozma- Battlescars
    Noise Ratchet- My Day
    NIN- Right Where It Belongs
    NIN- Hurt
NIN- The Day the World Went Away
    The Mars Volta- Televators
    The Mars Volta- The Widow
    Jimmy Eat World- Polaris
Jimmy Eat World- Goodbye Sky Harbor
    Jimmy Eat World- Ten
    Idiot Pilot- Lucid
    Idiot Pilot- Militance Prom
    Idiot Pilot- Losing Color
    Death Cab For Cutie- Transatlanticism
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah- Details of the War
    Armor for Sleep- Car Underwater
    Aphex Twin- Polynomial C
The Alkaline Trio- Time To Waste
    At The Drive-In- Metronome Arthritis

Thanks for the thread, there's some on there I need to check out.

In my club we can rarely play slower stuff, but I do whenever I can, usually on slower nights--so long as the dancer merits it. Then in case one of the owners came in when I was doing it and complained I could say "Yeah but watch the girl move..."

My favorite slow end-of-the-night song is the Lovage remake of "Sex (I'm A)." It's definitely the one you break out for the very last song of the evening, but it's gorgeously sexy; it sounds like slow, romantic lovemaking. The woman's voice is amazing.

Yea... see I get really into slow songs sometimes... hitting every piano note... etc... so it can actually be more interesting to watch than my faster songs.

Ever try dancing to Miles Davis? It absolutely has to be the right song, most of it is way out there, lol...

Oh my god! You've all got such great taste in music!

I really have little to contribute, but I always liked Creep by Radiohead. Maybe that's not slow or moving enough though. Also, Gasoline...by...I think Bush. But you know the one. And Brick by Ben Folds Five.

and Deep Red Bells by Neko Case. I don't know if I'd ever dance to it though.

...and Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. Ok, now I'm done.

^^I recently had a girl ask me to play "Brick" by Ben Folds. There was a thread awhile ago something like "Do lyrics matter"? Yeah, in that case they do. Not only is the song slower than christ, it's about taking your girlfriend to get an abortion on the day after Xmas. Nice. Let me get right on that.

Gasoline is by a rarely recalled band, "The Catherine Wheel", the rest of their cd is truly excellent, I think I listed one of their songs above.

One of my favorites at my new club (well 5-6 months now, is it new anymore, lol?) absolutely loves Creep. I play it for her every night, even if I have others I like better for her, because by god the girl can dance! I haven't heard Brick or Deep Red Bells that I know of, but it's quite possible I have even played them at some point or another, lol.

I like the idea of playing the occasional song that is moving or slower or touching or whatever, even if I can do it a lot less at my present club. But then I am a proponent of Erotic Art, to the extent it can be gotten away with in the club you happen to find yourself.

In a lapdance factory, not going to happen, no. In your typical club, not going to happen very often, either. But in some clubs, it's nice to know there is some leeway, and a chance for a woman to express herself through motion. They aren't all factories.

It's why I got in the fucking business, and even if I have to be very careful when and how I do it, it's why I am staying in it.

    Obscure but worth hunting down

Jean Grae's "Fadeout" a rap about one of her late ex-boyfriends that will leave you in tears...it's slower than her usual raps. It's on "Attack of the Attacking Things."

"Kiss Me" by Tin-Tin- super-obscure New Wave song. Quotes passages of The Song of Solomon from the Bible, it's about longing & love. Could be re-made into other genres...someone should do it.

Not to criticize you, sleepyboy, far from it--but going back to the OP:

That's what this thread is about, not what we are or aren't supposed to play in our own club, or in some slick Vegas factory run by assholes. Who fucking cares?

WEEZO is an artist as well as a dancer. The two professions are extremely difficult to combine, just as DJing and being an artist, lol!

Obviously we don't want to chase the few customers out the door on a slow night by playing a sad song--but there are situations where it can be pulled off, and there are sad songs that are beautiful, and there are dancers who can dance beautifully to them.

Besides, this is an internet forum dedicated to strippers, NOT a strip club--we can play whatever the fuck we want in here, lol...
