    Default WTF? sudden credit drop!

Im soooo pissed off. I pulled my credit score with 3 beareaus and my credit has suddenly decreased from 700's to mid 600's....FOR NO APPARANT REASON! Ive checked everything...no delinquincies, no inquiries, no late payments, nothing out of the ordinary in spending habits and no new accounts. WTF? I made some calls to the NCC or NFC and they all tell me the same thing "certain things can affect your credit score...b;lah blah blah" I know what affects my score and i do not see anything of the sort on my report. Does anyone know of a company or something i can call that CAN give me a reason why my credit suddenly plummeted down by about 50 points? That seems like an awful lot to me......Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

How often have you been pulling it? Every time you run your credit, it knocks a few points off.

And, if you pull your own credit, it doesn't negatively affect your credit.

If your credit card balances are higher than normal (even if you pay them off every month), it can and will drop your credit score. So, if you have a limit of $5,000 and you charged $4,500 this month (no matter if you will pay it off), it will drop your credit score. It's why you should not charge more than 50% of your limit.

If that isn't it...I don't know. There is a credit board you can visit and you may find more information there. I'll have to search for it because I can't remember what the board is.

In my experience, the scores you get from pulling your own credit, even through the credit agencies themselves, are wildly innacurate. The problem is different scoring modules. If you did not run up accounts past 50% of the credit limit, you sould be ok.

Have your available credit gone up on existing accounts. There is a such thing as having too much available credit. For example, someone who makes a $1 per year but has available credit of $1,000,000 is a credit risk. Like most have said checking your own credit does not impact your score.

Actually pulling your own credit report can hinder you depending on how you pull it. If you pull it thru a consumer organization or annualcreditreport.com then it would not hurt you. If you have someone pull it in any other way it will be a hard hit.

Credit report scores are raw scores. Meaning it is just based on the info on the report. Most lenders then factor in your salary, debt to income ratio, etc. If you score dropped dramatically its probably one of a few things, either the amount of credit available on your cards is low, balances increasing too fast, or too many cards. If you pulled your report thru annualcreditreport.com it will give you a list of negative factors with each reporting bureau.
