I am currently working at Cheaters in Cocoa Beach, Florida. This club has the worst poles of my life. The first is an old axle taken from an 18-wheeler. It is so slippery you absolutely cannot grip to it unless you are an expert at pole tricks, and even then you are at a disadvantage. It spins, but not at a consistent speed, and always too fast. It's WAY too thick, like 3.5 inches in diameter. The second is a fiber optic pole that is about 5 inches in diameter and I've never seen a girl do a trick on it. A strip club without good pole tricks is pretty lame.
So I asked the manager very nicely if we could get new poles for Christmas. He said sure, he thought the fiber optic one was pretty lame and wasn't aware the metal one was so shitty. I told him I'd find a contractor, try to keep it reasonably priced, and handle the details.
I called a lot of contractors and I think I settled on one. He's going to come in and give a quote. The other ones are being removed and the new ones are being installed. I might also call the club down the street that has really good new poles and ask them who installed theirs.
I've chosen:
Brass - seems to be the best combination of value and function. Titanium is way too expensive for the management's taste. It's their job to be cheap. Stainless steel is really slippery and the average dancer seems to have a hard time with it. Brass is sticky and it'll help most of us average pole dancers. I don't know how high the ceiling is. It's anywhere between 14 and 20 feet.
Spinning - Because brass is so sticky and it puts the really good pole dancers at a disadvantage with their tricks that require fast transitions, spinning might help.
2 inches in diameter - this is the thickness that Platinum Stage's and Lil Mynx poles are, so I'll go with that.
Am I making the best choices in regard to material, diameter, and spinning vs. non-spinning?
Suggestions would be appreciated.

Omg!
. They make everyones spins look good, because all you have to do is get on and hold on, but there are so many cool stationary moves that are difficult or too dangerous on a spinning pole! The only club I know of in Van with a spinning pole ended up duct taping the top so that it wouldn't spin anymore (classy!), because the girls were too limited by it.
