    ok, today i was super hungover and sick feeling so i didnt really care much about my diet. i still drank tons of water and stuck to no soda or anything, but i ate panera for lunch and i'm having pizza for dinner. i know a lot of girls give yourselves one cheat day a week, which i dont plan on doing often, but do you think it affects your diet negatively? i know lots of people do it, but i feel like if i eat bad one day i'm in a way cancelling out all the healthy eating ive been doing. what do you guys think?

    Every 3500 calories over what you need is another lb of fat stored... that's just what I read recently... so as long as you don't sabotage yourself too badly it shouldn't hurt that bad... just might make it difficult to a new eating LIFESTYLE CHANGE... the only way to keep weight off in the long run.

    Having a cheat day occasionally HELPS me to stick to a reasonable diet the rest of the time, so no, I don't feel like I'm undoing anything (unless I do it more than once every week or two). Sometimes you just need the release of a mini-break from dieting. (Though, when I take a break, I tend not to eat more than the maximum I need to maintain my weight, generally because I WANT to stop before I hit that point- I'm full. Giving yourself permission to have a 'binge' of sorts breaks any need to gorge.)

    Well I dunno what Panera is, but if you just have one slice of pizza you should be fine! Just don't eat the whole thing! The best way to eat pizza is with men (like my bf) then they eat most of it, and I have one piece haha takes care of all temptation. Are you still going to workout? Or go to work? One day a week is good you'll be fine! I always think if people really stress out about dieting, they will be thinking more about the foods they want but can't really have, so then they mess up. So don't stress, one bad day out of 6 good days should be ok.

    I think if you're actively trying to lose weight, it may take a little bit longer to do, but if you're just eating well to maintain your weight, then one day a week is fine. I've never had issues maintaining w/ my one pig out day/wk. Actually, I hadn't weighed myself in a few wks and found out a couple days ago that I lost 2lbs, lol! Go figure! You may be a little bloated the next day, but the following day your weight should be back to normal and the bloat gone! HTH

    omg you don't have paneras in philly??? wow u don't know what your missing.. they have the best breads, sandwiches, soups, bagels, pizza, and pastries... its really fresh and good for you... they have tons of veggie versions of everything.. i love it!!!!

    hahaha UMMM its really really bad for you actually. Look at the panera webpage. THe salads are like 1500 calories and high in fat. Most stuff at panera is processed crap in a bag full of calories. THe breads and stuff are freshly made, but that doesnt make them healthy.

    yeah, panera is horrible for you! but natalie.. when you get to md, im so taking you there!! it's delicious and even things that have 5748956374 calories are ok if you eat then only once in a while!

    oh i do it. i lost all but 2 of the pounds i wanted to lose. i have a nice defined waist too. it looks like i lost more inches than pounds (not complaining!) so this weekend i went off atkins. i've had soda, pizza, brownies, chips the works. i will resume on monday for those last two pounds. i dont gain for one weekend of indulgance.
