Exclamation A day in the life of a stripper (TV segment)

Tommorow (friday) DR. Keith Ablow is having a segment on women that strip for a living, and their family members are supposed to be there to talk about the ups and downs of stripping. I go by central time, it comes on at 11:00, and it is on a local channel FOX 26. Let's see what kind of strippers he found (hopefully not a bunch of crackheads)!!

Hmmmm, thanks for the heads up, I can't wait to see how they will portray the women.

Since he's a young version dr. phil rip off I'm betting the girls he gets strippers all have dad issues or have been molested by a family member just to show everyone how stereotypical us strippers are. :eye roll: Oh yea don't forget how most will probably work at some of the worst sc's.

I know!! I went on his website to get more details and I came across a website called Beauty from ashes ministries. I have no problem with that at all. It's just that they make it seem like everyone in the adult entertainment business is addicted to some kind of drug, doing sexual favors etc.

exactly! They always show the girls smoking a cig, talking between puffs. Then they show them in the dressing room in they're skankiest stripper outfits, and you can see all the other girls doing the same thing.

lol I know the segment is going to turn into a talkshow about being neglected as a child, getting hooked on drugs and having sex at an early age. Why don't they do a show about customers? Tyra Banks did a really bad job w-her whole stripper segment.

    But the public loves it!

There are women out there who spend their whole lives being taken care of. Housewives whos entire existance is about making lunches and what toilet bowl cleaner works best. They pitty us. They think to themselves "Ive never been an indipendant woman... but at least im not that!" Its a crock of shit, but it works for them.

It wasn't as bad as everyone thought it would be although 2 of the ex-strippers he featured were those "Gods Girls" chicks, I believe. They tried to make it seem like dancing ruined their lives. The red head said she couldn't finish her way through school because of all the drinking and partying. Obviously because she didn't have any self-discipline or self-control. I know lots of strippers who don't drink, do drugs or even smoke!

At the beginning of the show the girls all mentioned how the only reason they did it was for the money so Dr. Ablow kept throwing it in the their faces the whole time, but isn't the reason we all work for is money, anyway? What a hypocrite.

I wonder where some of those chicks worked because the blonde said she made $200,000 in 2 days one time.

For the love of peanut butter...

The only strippers we hear about are the ones who messed it up. There are plenty of strippers who do it as a business choice, bank, use the money wisely, and then quietly assimilate into society. We never hear from them because they usually have jobs that will give them trouble if their past job was discovered.

Even if they wanted to talk the show wouldn't put them on TV. They're not THAT hard to find.

Oh! That is really f-ing great. Now some poor 17 year old girl is going to see that program and hear only that one part. As will some of our customers. The whole myth that strippers make SOOOOOOOOOOO much money is going to be further perpetutated and thrown back in our faces when we are walking out of the club with $30 at the end of a shitty shift and be accused of lying about the fact that we aren't making at least $1000 a day.

Grrrrrrrrr.... Some people just can't keep their mouths SHUT! Agggghhhhh!

I saw the last 15 minutes of that show. With the $200,000 comment, and the "We're all just a big family, it's like Cheers", I must admit I got all wide eyed and thought "WOW, I want to be a stripper!!" Then I had to remind myself I already am one.

shit i missed it oh well. I will say this i will NEVER go on a talk show for any topic ever stripping related or not. I think its all very tacky every show of all types with the expection of ellen i would go on her show in a heart beat. I would never put myself out there to be the freak show of the day for the unemployed.

I love when people say stripping ruined their lives. Fuck yeah RIGHT it did. Oh my god, there was so much partying I lost my internship...blah!

Bull fucking shit. So much partying is YOUR GODDAMN FAULT - NOT STRIPPING!

For christ sakes, grow some balls and take responsibility for your own actions.

It just pisses me off. I was watching a drug addict go on and on about how meth ruined his life... blame the meth.

I was a meth addict.. and I can say right here, right now... METH DIDN'T RUIN MY LIFE - I DID BY TAKING THE METH.

Stupid people and their stupid aversion to actually blaming their fucking selves.

Maybe they'd learn to live a better life if they learned their own faults.

......sorry... ranting... I know you were agreeing with me.
