I believe you Dottie and you have my support
LMFAO! I laughed so hard I cried. The SOUNDTRACK makes it even worse. I have a cat and she would probably have a heart attack in that thing. I think I was half crying from laughter and half because I felt soooo bad for the cat!
I'm not going to throw a bitchfit, but I don't see how it's "safer" than a bath. I used to bathe my cats in the kitchen sink. They didn't like it, but they knew I was taking care of them and I wasn't going to hurt them. This just looks mean, though I guess if your cat stinks and really hates baths, there's no other alternative.
We've taken our cat to a groomer a few times and the groomer simply holds him and washes him. The cat relaxes and doesn't give him any trouble, and he's purring and contented afterwards. Seems pointless to freak the cat out this way when any groomer can do the job more comfortably.
^^^^^^^
Agreed.
I laughed a bit but it seems the cat is in distress from feeling enclosed & not being able to breathe freely (while hand-bathing, you can keep the cat's head out of the water, not so in this machine.)

Also this is more dangerous because water can easily get in the cat's ears and cause infections. You should hold your cat's ears out of water and just sponge wash them lightly.

At least the video "owner" admitted that he wasn't going to do it again. Did it once because s/he thought it was a "good idea" due to the cat fighting when it has to be bathed yet didn't do it again.
If the cat is a REAL fighter when it comes to bath time then you either enlist the assistance of a second person or take it the groomer. *sigh*
Whilst I can see the humour, as someone with a cat, it is just isn't in me to really find this humourous. If my cat is in distress, I don't stand by and film it.

As someone who's had a "problem washer," I totally understand why someone would try this.
Water and/or soap will get in the eyes of a fighter whether they're in this machine or being bathed regularly.
Many fighters, including my own, aren't allowed in groomers unless they're declawed (a cruel, unneccessary procedure- but that's for another thread).
To bathe my fighter, I had to use (padded) straps to hold his front legs to his body and some footies for his back feet. (I'd tried without before and had to get stitches.)

that's just mean. that cat will, never, ever, ever forgive the owner. ever. there will be destruction in the home for that!
the birman has had one bath in the laundry tub.. i think i posted it in 'pussy pics' ages ago. no rush to do it again.
I've never bathed katya. She was washed in a coffee cup when she was a flea-ridden kitten, but I've never had to. She always smells good and only eats IAMS.
But yes, I did laugh, he'll get over it. Bathing them it just as traumatizing if they hate it. Hell, it was an ordeal have to give mine pills for 2 weeks when she was sick once. Some cats just get stinky....

This kinda shit pisses me off!!! Dumbfucks what the hell do people think! That cat was so scared it could have died of a heart attack!! I could not watch the whole thing, I have 2 cats that look just like that one. How would they like it if I did that to them? Fucking idiots!! Yeah I went off so sue me!

I was waiting for the machine to spin and warm air to blow up through the floor. *shrugs*

I was also wondering if there was any soap involved. I would assume so, otherwise it's just getting the cat wet, and that does basically nothing. I had one cat that leapt around like that in the shower stall, it was amusing in person. The 2 Manx I have right now, the old boy could care less...he gets in the shower stall with me if I let him. The younger one doesn't "like" it, but he'll let me bathe him if I really need to. I never bathe a cat unless they're crazy ridiculous dirtystinky, though.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.

Honestly, you need to bath cats once a month even if they are primarily (or whole-ly) indoor cats.

^^^ I disagree with that. I've only bathed cats to help with my ex-husband's allergies, or because they rolled in something stinky, or because the cat had a skin problem and couldn't keep himself clean. A healthy indoor cat isn't going to need a bath on a regular basis.
