    Default Itchy 'n' miserable

Will a few days of vicodin cause this? My appetite is gone, too. And haven't been to the gym or yoga since Sat, as I let my new ears settle in. Big blech.

Feeling much better, ladies. I'm gonna tough it out. I did make a tactical mistake last night of having one glass of cab-sav with a friend after taking a few of the evil itch pills that afternoon. I was 4/5ths done with my drink and basically called a hault to the evening, telling him I had to go home and pass out. I gave him a rain check for this coming Monday night, when I'm hoping my system will be entirely pain-killer-free and ready for a grown-up vodka drink.

They affect everyone differantly, but yes, itchyness is def a possible side effect.
Tey dont do that to me....but I do run about a 50/50 chance of getting violently nausious when I take them. Ugh.....it's just a matter of whether the pain is worse the the side effects...if it is, keep taking them..if the pain is tolerable without them...stop.
And alcohol will DEF. make it worse...

Thanks, cameron. I"m feeling like crap now. Almost flu-like symptoms. Flushed, aches (ears), which are pretty tender, swollen and a bit red or bruised. From my reading, it seems this discomfort can last up to a week. Also hardly slept last night--only got about 4 hours due to the discomfort (and itching!). Definitely making it a short work day. Popped my first Vicodin a couple minutes ago (2:30 pm), hoping that'll give me enough relief to churn through some e-mails and do a couple exprense reports.

Where the hell are my nurses in their halter tops and micro minis? <Angrily rings the bell at his bedside.>

Every little bit helps, Cameron. How nice. But I'd trade you in a heartbeat for some stronger pain meds! It's not really that bad, just that annoying pain that saps your energy and spirit over time.

Vicodin makes me itchy and constipated. I have taken it for years for my migraines and I hate the side effects. I guess I do get nauseated too but it could be the migraine. They sure kill the pain though so I put up with it.

Constipated? Ohhh that explains it. (Putting two and two together for why a) I feel like "crap" and b) haven't lost weight in a week. Blech!

What about taking Tylenol 3? When I had my BA, the Percoset gave me nausea (or so I thought at the time, but it could've just been the anesthesia) so instead I took Tylenol 3, which was enough to dull the pain and let me sleep.

Oh shit..not only does Vicodin make me itch...I saw the Devil, pulled out my Bible, and watched the ants crawling and biting all over me. Thankfully I had some Benadryl to make it all go away!

Ahhh, the pain is mostly gone, unless I bump my ears with anything, including the collar of a sweater. JESUS! So there's healing yet going on.
Meantime, I feel dreary and tired, probably because I didn't sleep well for three days after the procedure and because I haven't been to a gym or a yoga class in an entire week. Moreover, I wonder if the vicodins messed with my wee antidepressant meds. I do know that my stomach still feels weird and I've had to remind myself to eat.

Other than the above--bitch, bitch, bitch--I'm doing MUCH better. Tonight I'm hoping to go out to eat somewhere fun and see some live music in an uncrowded venue. Why uncrowded, you ask? Because I must avoid the chance of some drunk, 6ft 2" moron bumping into me, and my ear, as he staggers his ass to the mens room. OWWWWWWIE. I would have no option but to KILL him.

itching is one of the less common side effects of taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminphen (Vicodin). i would try an oatmeal bath to reduce the itching, rather than taking another drug which could interact with it.
