3 years now...not sure when i want to stop. I did decide however that when I'm 30, I absolutely must quit.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.
If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!
6 years since my first time on stage, but about 4 years as my main income/full time (sort of) job.

Feature costumes for sale!

Since mid-'03, but it's been a very on-off exercise for me.
I plan on studying full-time for a while beginning end of the month, so no more dancing for me while I'm doing that (during Semesters at least).
I miss it already.
Lets see, I am going on about 10 years, but didn't start till later 20's, and as long as I can still look good, and make money, I'll keep going..
There is no better buzz then busting a nut !!!
I started at almost 29! I used to say I'd stop before I turned 35...I'm 37 now and still dancing.
So 8.5 years. When will I quit completely? Hmmmm, no clue. I'm getting into mentoring and running and agency these days, so still in the biz but less actual dancing. I'm down to about 5-6 days a month of actual dancing.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

Hilarious! I quit at 30 and came back at 31 because I still looked great and missed dancing. I've danced off and on since 1994, as much off as on but over a span of 13 years. I danced full time for the first few years, got fried on that, then used it to complement other things I wanted to do. My immune system rebelled against full time dancing way too often to make it worth returning to, but part time worked well for me.
Sometimes I think I'm retired when I haven't gone in for a long time (like a year). I dance on a very part time basis now (went in 6 times last year) and still see it as a tool that I can use when I need it (unexpected dental work, trip to Japan). I'll continue to do that until it no longer fits in my life in any way and falls off like an old snake skin.

Yup, if I hadn't 'screwed up' and wasted the first 10 years of my working life going to college and slaving at a straight job, I could have retired 5 years sooner !!!haha is this a trick question.... i'm a career dancer... more than most, even more than melonie!

I'm with Pooka about 4 months.
Im not sure how long I'll do it for.
Im going to graduate in a couple of months but I don't have a job lined up yet.
I know I'll miss it when I'm sitting in an office and going to meetings.
I have been dancing since July 2005, but haven't really worked on a continuous basis. About a year and a half later and I wished that I would have worked more consistently. During that time, I tried out some "straight jobs" for different reasons. I'm 22 and I hope to dance as long as I'm feelin' it.
Wow. I started dancing two days after I turned 18, so that was waaay back in 2000. So Six and half years?
I've danced for part of every year since, but I've also bartended and waitressed in betweens.
I used to say I'd quit dancing when I was 25. I'm not going to, so I'm pushing it back til 30. But who knows, at 29 I might push it back to 35![]()

11 years and 4.5 months. You gotta take away though the 2 years I quit and did other shit though. So I guess 9 years total with those 2 taken away.
And yes I started 17.
and no I no longer have shit to show for any of it. Thanks to my stupidity in not filing taxes etc.
And when will I quit? when i run out of options of keeping myself sane while doing my job. Although I've said to myself I'll quit once the club I"m working at is shut down because it will be at some point since the Mayor doesn't like us. So lets hope it's at least not for another 2 years lol
I started at the age of 19, 14 years ago. I might retire at 40. Then again I might open my own club to perform in and call it Senior Tacos.![]()

I danced for a total of 3 years. I've been retired for some time though.
Why did I get out of it?
I quit because I was pretty much tired of it (reached a burnout point), I had graduated college and landed a job in my field of choice. I work in the corporate world, and I'm very satisfied with where I'm at and my yearly salary. However it took awhile to get where I am now, as one thing dancing did was make my BS meter and tolerance there of VERY low! I've had two different jobs I walked away from that some people would have killed to have but I walked anyway because of the political office/corporate BS going on. I'm not afraid to call BS when I see it and say fuck you and walk out. The company I'm with now, I've been there 5 years. There is the office/corporate politic crap there as there is in any company, but it doesn’t get pulled on me. I'm finally in a high enough position to call someone on it when it happens, and they either change there ways or they see the door. I don’t play the game. And I have dancing to thank for teaching me how to be assertive and teaching me that if the BS gets too much, you simply say fuck it and move on to bigger and better things.
