Default I threw out my neck doing a pole trick!

My club has the crappiest spinning pole. It spins WAY too quickly, it's way too thick, and it's too slippery to easily get a good grip on it.

I've managed to learn how to do a few tricks on it, but I always am dizzy when I'm done - yes, it's that fast.

Last night I threw out my neck -the pole was spinning so quickly! I do this thing where I'm sideways and I whip my head around, and it's like I got whiplash! It's also not made any better by the fact that I just started weight training and I'm sore all over.

Oh man, I cannot turn my head from side to side, and I'm SO SORE. I was practically in tears finishing the shift last night. I should have left, but I really wanted to make some cash.

I took a long bath, two Aleve, and am using a heating pad. Any other ideas on how to ease the pain?

The best thing to do is just rest. When it starts to feel a bit better, try to stretch it our a bit. (veeeeery slowly) You also might want to try some liniment. If you have an Asian store anywhere near you, ask for Woodlock or White Flower Oil. But be warned, they are much, much hotter than Bengay, and I don't recommend using them if you're coming straight out of a bath or shower. If worse comes to worse and it's not feeling better in a few days, go to your doctor or the emergency room and get some good pain killers. Just remember that they are only masking the injury, though, and behave accordingly even though your neck may *feel* better.

Don't do those fancy tricks unless you know what you are doing.

I know what I'm doing! I've stripped for 6 years. The pole at my club is an axle taken from an 18-wheeler, polished, and placed on a stage. Not exactly the safest pole.

that is too funny (the type of pole, not you hurting yourself of course).

I've hurt my neck doing various things and hot showers and anti-inflammatories and rest seemed to be what helped.

Don't do pole tricks on that pole or sue the hell out the strip club if you get hurt. THAT'S A SURE FIRE WAY TO NEVER HAVE TO DANCE AGAIN. SUE....

    Thanks my sweet

Sorry I haven't posted pics of me in the corset yet - it's gorgeous and I make SO MUCH MONEY in it. I wear it with this rhinestone skirt and a big rhinestone choker or rhinestone chandelier earrings

Let's do the trashy-style pink and black corset soon! I also think I'm going to order more solid colored ones from you, like turquoise and fuschia

Yea, I guess gentle treatment and time are the best remedies.

In my experience a good massage always helped and I've strained neck/back muscles quite a few times on the pole. I also take muscle relaxers along with anti-imflammatories when it happens to me. Hope you feel better soon it's no fun not being able to turn your head.........

You know, generally i'd ask what was wrong with you but I guess it'd be redundant at this point.

The heat is great, i'd add an anti-inflammatory (Advil). Sometimes alternating heat with cold brings relief for folks so you can give that a whirl too.

With whiplash type injuries resting it is key. Don't push it until you know its' well healed. Hope you feel better, god knows i've had my share of neck issues so I have the utmost sympathy for ya.

Ugh Im getting over whip lash and some serious shoulder injuries from pole work. Go to a chiropractor(omg yes im actually saying see the cracker!) also massage therapy. Use a heating pad and take anti inflammatories. You *NEED* to move your head, if you dont move it your going to seize up. Just slowly move it and stretch it, try and keep yourself relaxed, staying tense makes it worse.
