    Default Spaghetti squash- SO GOOD!

I made spaghetti squash for the first time tonight. OMG! I made an alfredo w/ broccoli sauce to go on top, and it's soooo good! And easy!

Put whole spaghetti squash in oven for 1 hr (with holes poked in it w/ fork). When it's done, make the alfredo suce (for me, it's classico alfredo sauce plus chopped broccoli in a saucepan for 5 mins).

De-seed the squash, spaghettify it with a fork, and pour on the sauce. MMMMM!

MMMM I LOOOOVE SPAGHETTI SQUASH! I eat it with plain marinara alot of the time, but the alfredo sauce sounds good too!

Spaghetti squash is so good!! So good for you and so easy to make. Wonderfully cheap meal too. I like mine with garlic, butter and mrs. dash.

I'm gonna have to try this! So, it's just a regular squash that you spaghettify? I know nothing about cooking, but this sounds too good to not try!

This is what is looks like without seeds. You don't have to do much too it besides season it.

Ooohhh. I was so confused, I didn't know it was a type of squash. I LOVE squash in all forms and fashions. This sounds sooo good.

Oh wait! I also make it into sesame noodles w/ sesame oil (a little goes a long way), come cayenne, soy sauce, sesame seeds. Yumm

Scarlett, thanks for the tip! I made this today and it turned out good. And I am not a good cook at all. I am trying to watch my carbs and I know this has a lot less carbs than regular spaghetti, so thanks!

Alright, I picked up the sauce and and the squash and I'm preheating the oven as I type this! I'm really excited, but nervous at the same time, because I don't ever really make anything except convenience foods...wish me luck!! Stay tuned for an update...

Oh, and shasta, your ideas sound YUMMY!! I don't have plain sesame oil, but I have sesame/hot chili oil and I think I'll try that!

Oh, one more thing, does anyone know how well it keeps in the fridge and how long to reheat? I didn't realize this thing was so big!

    Yay!

I think it keeps for 2-3 days in the fridge. Mine did, then I microwaved it to reheat- just as good.

I ate half--I just couldn't stop!! And I put the other half in the fridge.

Question, though...Did it give you gas? I've been really bloated and gassy since I ate it? Perhaps I overdid it?

I didn't get gas, but I don't really get gas from anything except dairy. It's probably a habituation thing (I've always eaten a lot of acorn sqaush and pumpkin).

No, it's the other way around.

a pumpkin is always a squash, a squash is sometimes a pumpkin.

basicly: pumpkin is a variety of a squash, just like a sparrow is a variety ofbird.

At one of my favorite restaurants here they have a spaghetti squash enchilada dish. OMG it's SOOOO insanely good.

I love making interesting enchiladas. Last week I mage zucini, black bean, tofu vegan enchiladas for some vegan friends. Now I am interested in the SS variation. How do you think they prepare it. I will try to do a search...

It is great with butter, garlic and some pepper.

Great suggestion I should pick some up when I'm doing groceries.

^no, it tastes like squash, but in long spaghetti-like strands. Really neat, if you ask me!

It did taste a little bit like spaghetti to me after I put some tomato sauce on it, only crunchier. Not as tasty as regular spaghetti, but still good!
