    Default Freaked out dancer

I was at a club on a slow night, and it was getting pretty late, maybe an hour or so before closing.

There weren't a lot of us left in the club, and a dancer who had introduced herself earlier, but I hadn't spoken to all evening, came to my table and flopped down in the chair next to me.

She started telling me how freaked out she was, that she was giving a dance to a guy who wanted more than she wanted to give, but wouldn't take no for an answer, and how scared she got. She did have the bouncer throw the customer out. This went on for a while, I asked if she wanted something to drink (soft, this club doesn't serve alchohol), but she declined.

Here's the thing. I wanted to be polite and sensitive, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking "is this some new kind of hustle?".

She never put on the "hard sell", but I still have to wonder:

Is this some kind of "non-hustle"?

I would expect that dancers in a club would tend to talk to each other about things like this, or are the girls in a club competitive enough that they can't typically get support from each other?

I am NOT saying that I can possibly speak for this dancer - it very well may have happened just as she said. I tend to be more discreet with my woes with customers, but that's just me. Can't do SS, and still think of what I'm doing as SOME kind of a performance. Were I to bitch to a customer candidly, that would be letting him see behind the curtain (for me).

That said, I immediately thought of this. Again, I cannot say one way or another whether this was the case with your situation, but it's a good read regardless: Kevin Smith Doesn't Go To Strip Clubs Anymore

Interesting article. I don't like that hustle at all....I'm a believer in the positive hustle. Then again, I made a guy pay $20 last week because he kissed me on the cheek and messed up my makeup (I had just redone it).

I don't like that hustle one bit either, for the record. And for Chrissake, if you're going to do it, you'd damned well have a good enough memory not to pull the same shit TWICE with the SAME GUYS!!! Makes us all look bad.

I'd LOVE to have given Kevin Smith a lapdance or 12. Too late now . . .

I think it can be a good technique when you are trying to explain to a guy that is already spending why you want him to keep spending. Talk about how you are so happy to be spending time witha gentleman because you never know what kind of animals are out there.

Guys seem to ask a lot, "I bet you meet a lot of creeps/losers in here." I'm not sure what they are reaching for, but I think it's to make them feel better about themselves. They are a different, more sophisticated customer.

It could've been some weird pity hustle, but more likely she was just venting to anyone who would listen. I bet she bitched to everyone in the dressing room later on.

Emily, I have actually pulled this maneuver before. It was when The Hugger was stalking me around the club. I think it worked so well because I already knew my customers, and they had witnessed how The Hugger was already hovering.

I bet that she was just freaked out and wanting to talk to anyone who would listen. But way to be cynical and assume she was making up a horrible story.

I admit, I have done something like this, and not as a hustle. I had a creepy, icky guy, and I just felt yucky! None of my "friends" were working and I did the most natural thing....I grabbed a guy who looked nice and I had seen for most of the night being cool...and sat down next to him. Said "Do you mind if I sit with you for a bit, I'm tired of dealing with the human octopus over there."

I never even asked the guy for a dance, I was just happy to take my mind off the grossman.

I don't think SHE was hustling, not one bit... but I've done similar to semi-regulars to keep them. "Oh man, that guy is so mean to me... I hate it... I'm glad I can spend time with you here and chat and get away, because you're so fun."

That makes me think of the South Park "Raisins" episode..."I'm so glad you guys came in. You seem really cool. Everyone else in here is a bunch of losers."

Naw I think she was just upset. Dancers are people too. Some need to unload it immediatly while others can suck it up and keep going. I dont see how this increases the chance of a sale, unless she turns into something positive.

I save my "OMG I cant beleive he did that!" for the housemom, lol. She's heard it all.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

i've done this before. some guy whipped his dick out during a lapdance and i had to get him thrown out, so i was pretty traumatized/shaken up and i just needed to sit down and chill with someone for a while. so i sat down with this friendly looking old guy, and he was just like "wow, that's terrible! you girls put up with so much!" and he was pretty sympathetic. just talking to someone about it helped calm me down. i never even asked the guy for a dance... i just wanted someone to talk to.

so no, it probably wasn't a hustle at all. i don't know why guys think that strippers are always "hustling" every second. sometimes we honestly just need to chill out.

I've had girls talk to me about stuff like that, and it wasn't a hustle. They knew I was going to spend every dollar I brought into the club on them, so why would they need to hustle?
