squats and lunges will for sure help.
I think a lot of it is genetic but squat and lunges will definitely bring the booty up and push it out. My butt seems to stick out more when I rollerblade a lot.
rollerblading has that lunging motion in it! hehe...
Ya, Lola's right! Squats and lunges. Try doing them with some weights.
Squats and deadlifts with weights will help. Also switch your cardio to Stairmaster. Makes my butt pop like nothing else.
I've been doing squats, lunges, and weight training (high reps with low weight on top, low reps with high weight on bottom) and my ass is getting WAY bigger. I also eat 2 servings of protein right after I work out, that seems to help it perk up. You need to at least gain a little weight in muscle to make your butt bigger. If it's small, you only need to gain a little weight. If it's kind of big and flabby, you'll need to lose some weight in fat doing cardio and build some muscle with weight training.
Squats, lunges AND gluteal machine- you rest on 1 knee and push up and back with the other leg- most good gyms have them. They also have new cardio machines that duplicate skating- high resistance for short periods of time will build up your buns AND here is one I've done for years :
Lie down on the floor in crunch position- knees up, feet flat on the floor and pick your butt up as high as you can and SQUEEZE it up. 3 sets of 10 to start. Work up to holding weight across your hips- use one of those weighted balls, a medicine ball or best of all sandbags ( if your gym has them) and raise and squeeze; raise and squeeze. Good for your lower back as well.
yup squats and lunges, im cursed with no ass too and find the squats shape out my booty, but its not getting any bigger or bouncier, so we just gotta work with what we got......or butt implants(hew!) only saw it done on doctor 90210. He made her ass all nice and heart shaped, but she couldnt sit for awhile... i think ill just stick with my squats![]()

The butt is muscle. To get it bigger & stronger you have to WORK IT ! and that means weights and sprints. Light weight and long time/distance will slim and tone
BUT won't build it up.
These days, they're thinking it isn't high weights per se, but exercising to exhaustion that really builds the muscle. See:
I have no first hand knowledge of whether it works, but Tim Ferriss' 4-Hr Body Book talks a bit about building up your booty without losing the pleasing feminine curves.
"These days" is an important distinction, as this thread is five years old.
