    Default Ultimate Cheese-fest

So, who wants to help me pick music for my handfasting? (Like a wedding, if you missed the thread). My husband and wife to be are both a little older than I am, and we want music at the reception that just screams cheesiness.

I'm talking some Elton John, some Chicago, some REO Speedwagon esque stuff.

    So far we have:

Everything I do - Robin Hood soundtrack
Glory of Love - Karate Kid Soundtrack
Kissed by a Rose - Seal
    Your Song - Elton John

    Help!!!

Anything by Michael Bolton. I have to leave instantly when I hear that shit.

Great idea--but aren't you worried about driving everyone away with this awful music?

For wedding cheesiness, you really can't go wrong with Lionel Richie/Diana Ross "Endless Love". That song makes me homicidal.

We aren't going to JUST play the cheesefest music. We want to make up a cd with about 20 completely sappy songs, and throw them in through the whole evening - it's going to be a reception and then a party, and so 20 songs over 8-10 hours or so isn't too bad. The rest of the music we have no problem with - but the sappy stuff... well, that's a bit harder for some reason.

Mr. Christopher started a thread which was so funny it was tempting to make it a sticky topic--you will find a goldmine of shitty, cheesy, nasty songs in there!

Thank MrChristopher, lol--he's the one who started it, not to mention all his other valuable contributions here...

Two words: Air + Supply. "Making Love Out of Nothing at All", anyone? Also "Hello" by Lionel Richie.
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins

"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott
