    Default Soda free diary

Well, I've posted a lot about my soda addiction (I'm the girl who did 6-10 cans a day)...and I decided to stop talking about it, and finally do something about it. So, on Tuesday (I ran out of my Coke supply Monday night) I began my soda free life. I have Many reasons for deciding to call it quits...despite a healthy diet (beside sthe soda), cardio 5 or 6 days a week, weight training 4 days...I still am pudgey and soft looking...at 5'4ish, no matter what, my weight stayed in the same range (between 138-145).

    Monday I weighed 138.8.

Tueday wasn't so bad. I had no problems just drinking water and iced tea. I added more of the mix to my water than was suggested on the box, but I figured I'd need the sugar, and it was about 70 calories a serving...not fantastic, but better than the usual 150 a can. I ate my usual...yogurt and granola for breakfast, baked potato with broccoli and green beans for lunch, soup for dinner, grapefruit/strawberries dipped in dark chocolate for snacks.

    Tuesday's weight....137.8

Wednesday: Started out again no problem. Halfway through the day though, I had a horrible headache and shakes. I kept chugging my water/iced teas, but no avail. An dthen the carbonation cravings kicked in. After dinner, I allowed myself a diet Barq's (I'm trying to stay away from diet soda for th emost part...it's only a rare "treat") a few gulp's and a felt a lot better, so down the drain the rest went! Getting myself to workout at all, let alone at my usual intensity is difficult, I feel like there's no energy at all

    Wednesday's weight...137.

Thursday...still a lot to go, but chugged my water upon waking up instead of my usual 2 cans of Coke. Keep your fingers crossed the rest of the day!

    Thursday's weight....136.4

I haven't been to the gym at alllll since Sunday, so i feel gross...but I'm going to force myself to go today...keep you updated!

Way to go! I am currently working on my coffee addiction--now down to 2 cups in the morning, one more if I find I need it in the afternoon.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Good job girl! I had to go cold turkey off soda (and all sugar) when I was in high school due to candida. Damn I thought I was gonna die the first couple days. But now, I get sick if I drink too much. I should stop drinking it altogether too...,but I'm not motivated enough right now lol.

I have a soda addiction as well. I never really thought it was that bad until I tried to go on a diet and give it up. Woah! Nevermind the food, I missed my Dr. Pepper. I'm still struggling with this myself, so I wish you luck. That stuff is no good for you and you will be much better off without it.

    Friday's weight....136.8

Blegh. Thursday, my friend got dumped, so we ordered in Domino's pizza and cheesy bread, and we all binge ate. Of course, plain water just doesn't taste right with pizza, so I allowed myself a Coke Zero...and I drank the whole thing. It's funny, it's only been a few days without Reg Soda...but already, even drinking C. Zero, I feel all gross and bloated today from it. I suppose that's a good thing lol

So, I'll be drinking some extra water and hitting the gym lol

I gave up coca-cola in my sophmore year of college (almost 4 years ago now...) It's really amazing the difference it makes! That's when I dropped about 10 lbs (130ish to 120ish) and never looked better. Makes you feel even better too when you see an ex who bugged you about losing just a "little bit" of weight...

Best of luck to you! I know you can do it!

^I had a guy say I would be "so freakin hot" and would totally date me if I lost "only" 10-15 lbs.

Obviously, I wouldnt take that guy on a silver platter now, but it's certainly a motivation, so i can show him what an idiot he is and what he missed out on
