I'm realizing lately that I can set myself up for a better, more productive night just by making small changes. Example: I usually listen to mellow indie-type music on the drive to work (Elliott Smith, The Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Nikitin, stuff like that.) Last night I decided to try listening to something more upbeat (Latin dance music), and it made a BIG difference in my energy when i got out on the floor! Being lulled into a mellow, relaxed state is nice, but not when I'm on a mission to make as much money as possible and take no prisoners!![]()
Also, I find that if I'm mulling over a problem situation or have something heavy on my mind, taking a few minutes to journal before going to work is a godsend. Brainstorming and putting it into a well-organized piece of black-and-white helps to get it off my mind so I can concentrate on hustling. Otherwise I'm going to be somewhat distracted and not on top of my game.
What are *your* small tweaks that can really help your work night?
