    Default Melatonin

I posted about having terrible insomnia for awhile. Now for some reason, I have the opposite problem. I have been sleeping for about 15 hours a day. I have no idea why my sleep schedule is soo screwed up, but I need to fix it.

I know melatonin can help you fall asleep, but does anyone know if it can actually help regulate your sleep schedule?

I use Melatonin all the time! Since I am not working all the time my routine changes a lot and it makes it hard to establish a sleep pattern. When I am not working I go to sleep between 12 am and 1am, and get up at 9am. However, when I am working sometimes I go to bed at 8am or 9am and it is hard to sleep. I take Melatonin, then, to help me sleep during the day. Also, when I am not working but I am still on a "working" sleep schedule, I take Melatonin to help me get to bed by 1am.

My point, is maybe establish a sleep routine and use Melatonin to regulate it. I usually only take one pill, rarely two.

Also, set your alarm to get up so you don't over sleep. Melatonin will work with you if you work at establishing your own sleep pattern.

    Good Luck!

^^Good advice. It works for me. Just start setting an alarm to when you want get up, take a melatonin, and go to sleep. Once your body adjusts, you won't need the alarm and will wake up after your set amount of hours that you used you alarm to coach your body with.

careful--too much melatonin can make you gain weight!! Also invest in sleep mask because total darkness is what triggers your body's release of melatonin.

Hm. I've heard the opposite. Good, restful sleep helps you lose weight. Plus, when I'm rested, I don't want to eat as much. I feel better overall. I googled "melatonin and wieght gain" nd only found info that supports that it hels weightloss if anything.
