    Default Stretch Marks

I have some kinda deep stretch marks that I'll need ot cover. I'm worried because I have very fair skin and they're kinda purple still (I had my daughter in November). I have some on my thighs, lower stomach but the worst ones are on my upper butt area (with how I looked when I was pregnant, you would have thought I had another baby back there. ) Does tanning help this at all or make it worse?

I've heard of Dermablend and Covermark elsewhere in the forums but I don't know which to try. Obviously, I'd like the most flawless look possible - and something that isn't going to smear or get all over my clothes. Any recommendations?

Also, I know it's not going to be perfect and I'm wondering what to do if a customer asks about them or asks if I have kids... I'm not sure if that would even come up but if it does I'd rather not talk about my family but I don't know what else to say. Any ideas?

if they are purple now you are in luck they are easier to treat. get mederma and consider laser now before they get old and white like mine Also, take lots of vitamins to help your skin repair from the inside out.

I want to say almost half the girls at the club I dance at have them. Use makeup. As long as I rub it in, it never gets on clothes. It's no big deal. I don't think I've ever heard about a customer asking about them. What you tell people is your decision.

True what most girls have said about not even being able to see them in the club. Like, every girl at my old club had them, but you could only see them in the dressing room. I used cocoa butter of and on during both of my preg and I don't have any. However, I don't know if it was because of the cocoa butter or if I just wasn't going to get them I heard something about vit E and vit A capsules, open them up and rub it into the skin. Don't quote me though. Maybe the other girls will know a bit more about that.

Also not that tanning is amazing for your skin or anything, but the few that I have almost dissapear when I tan. But really you are probably worryinig more about it than necessary. Most of the girls I work with have them on some part of their body. It's not noticeable outside of the dressing room.

Stay out of the sun until they have healed. It will make them much worse. After they have healed and are white though a tan usually minimizes them.

I have read in numerous medical books that there is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks except drinking a lot of water and not gaining too much too fast. Lotions don't work on a sub-dermal level like that.

Getting rid of them - I have no idea but there are a lot of strippers who've had kids and you can't tell under the magic club lighting.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

strivectin is supposed to minimize them dramatically but who wants to spend over a hundred dollars to gamble with results?

Yah, i've tired that stuff. It didn't work for me at all. I've heard about lazer removal of them- "brings collagen to the surface to fill the tears in the skin" but who knows. For me it's worth dropping the money to try with that. Me and swimsuit season don't mix well. But like a lot of the girls and I have said, you honestly can't see them in a club. Also in another thread i read about using dermablend? More expensive but it works.

Stretch marks are deep scars. Topical treatments will improve the appearance of stretch marks, but don't expect them to go away.

Stretch marks occur genetically, and produce deep scars. A cream isn't going to change that. Not a cream we have found, anyway....

I believe we will find a way to rid ourselves of the nuisance of stretch marks. People are busy researching other medical concerns at the moment, as women are continuing to spend billions a year on beauty products that produce minimal results. All the beauty products in the world won't rid you of your stretch marks.

When people stop thinking about trying to hide them and start trying to cure them (being more proactive), then maybe we will get somewhere with the situation. There are (how many researchers) working on ridding us of stretch marks versus (how many women) trying to get rid of them...

Use cocoa butter religiously, it has worked for me over time. Also, try dermablend and make sure you set it properly (with the setting powder) and give it a spray of extra hold hairspary to set it even more.
