Default Help need healthy snack idea

I am on a very scrict diet and doing extremly well for over 2 monts now i have not cheated at all but I am having a strong craving for some junk food. There is no way i will indulge myself my will power if very very high but i need a sweet snack i can have that will take the edge of the craving. keep in mind i do not eat white flour i have not had anything white in 2 months. I plan to have an open face turkey burger on one slice of whole grain bread for dinner and that helps calm the craving for pizza of other junk and i keep it under 300 cals. I just need more suggestions. thank you thank you in advance.

^^^ That's a good idea. Sugar free jello and sugar free jello pudding are also good snack ideas. Grapes and watermelon are good too.

what are you having cravings for?

crunchy, chewy, sweet, salty, chocolate, etc?

I have all sorts of ideas, but I don't know what you're craving. My latest favorite is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but I use whole wheat bread and sugar free jelly. Nuts get a bad rap, but they do keep you satisfied.

I've been dumping lots of Splenda in my tea to help with sugar cravings. I also just discovered Atkins nutritional bars. They only have 1g of sugar but they're extremely sweet (sucralose). There's no wheat in them.

    Whole wheat pita with hummus.

Here's an old thread where you can get ideas too.

    Protein muffins

    1 cup uncooked oatmeal
    8-10 egg whites
    2 scoops protein powder
1/2 cup applesauce or chopped apple
2 tbs organic honey and/or stevia
    1 sweet potato
    cinnamon to taste
    organic coconut oil

Bake the sweet potato at 370 degrees until it's soft. Allow to cool. Peel off the skin and mash along with the cinnamon. In another bowl, mix all of the other ingredients except for the coconut oil. Add the mashed sweet potato and mix thoroughly.

Lightly grease a muffin tray with the coconut oil. Drop in your mixture until the cups are about 2/3 full. Bake at 370 degrees for approx. 25 minutes. This makes about 12 muffins. Muffins can last up to one week in fridge but can also be frozen and thawed as needed.

    Modifications I've made:
The original recipe called for olive oil. I find this to be too strong and used organic coconut oil instead. Next, instead of the honey, I substituted with Stevia. Also, rather than applesauce, I used 1 microwaved 1 organic apple and 1 organic pear. Mashed them together and added them to the mixture. Finally, I added 2 scoops of protein powder just to up the protein content.

Whole wheat pita pizzas. Take 1/2-1 pita (depending on how many calories you need) put tomato sauce, low fat cheese, and then add toppings like chicken and veggies.

For sweets, you can make protein powder into mousse, it's sooooo good. I'll find the recipe if you want it.
