    Default Am I a hypocrte?

I recently put up a profile on One Model Place to get some pics done. I had one photographer contact me about a shoot. He's doinga series of nude tarot card. I checked out his work, it wasn't too bad and I decided to work with him.

All he said in his original email was that the photos would be depicting the cards. After I agreed to the shoot he sends me an email to confirm and in it he says that we'll start out with a series of photos of me undressing, do the card shoot then end with a picture of him and I together.

I immediately get a weirdo alert. I do take my clothes of for a living and I did agree to nude photos, no spread shots, but the taking pics of me undressing and one with him just creeped me out. I checked his website and yes there are pics just like he described but I just can't do it.
If he had stated all that was expected in the beginning I wouldn't have agreed to do it. I did cancell and I told him why (I was very professional in my email and apologized for cancelling).

Would this be a red flag for anyone else or am I a hypocrite?

I would have done the same thing, Susan. Never, ever doubt the "weirdo alert". He was also not very forthcoming in what he was wanting to do (probably because he wanted to take pics of you). That was unprofessional and wrong. I think you did the right thing.

The more important question is which card would you be. Probably the Queen of Wands.

    Red flag indeed.

    Trust your instincts.

Dont EVER go against your gut instinct....no matter how "bad" you feel about it. I learned that the hard way....
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

ditto. Everytime I see the disc from one particular shoot, I am phucked up for a couple of days. I want to throw it out, but I can't...yet.

Always follow your gut, there are plenty other photographers

    Well ^THAT^ made me curious!

No, you were totally right to trust your instincts. That didn't sound professional at all, especially for someone who is photographing nude models. Good for you!

Was it TFP? Sounds like he wanted to kill two birds with one stone, if you know what I mean. Get pics for his cards and get sets for porn. Screw that. You make good money as a dancer. You don't have to do anything else (just because it involves taking your clothes off doesn't mean it's the same job) that you don't want to.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I would have done the same thing. He should have told you his intentions of involving himself from the very start.

Trade for print. A photopragpher will shoot you for stuff that he wants and you get to use the photos for yourself also. It's fairly common.

I did a TFP shoot with another photographer and the whole experience was great.
