This question has been in my head all day.
Which came first?
The tune for the alphabet song, or the tune for Twinke Twinkle Little Star?
Who copied who?

Looks like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star came before

i would say the alphabet song but i have no facts to back that....i just think so =)

Hey cutie, I think twinkle twinkle came first circa 1806, it was first sung in french, but the composer is a toss up. The alphabet song was apparently well-suited to the tune, and since the bad boy is free it turned out to be a easily distinguished fair game melody. The ABC song was composed in 1834
Hope that helps,
But yeah, that shit is catchy

Ahh. It seems "baa baa black sheep" Also snagged the tune. Never caught that. Man. So much to think about.![]()
Wow, I knew they were the same tune but never wondered that myself! Interesting!!!!
I've often wondered that too!
When I was a freshman in high school, I had to learn "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" in Latin. Later learned a bunch of Christmas carols in Latin as well. I STILL remember that shit and I have no idea why. I barely remember any other Latin. Must be the catchy tunes.

Haha I still remember the spanish ones, Yek.![]()
