    Default not caring about money

At my club we have to work at least one weeknight and then either a friday or saturday night.

I did very well on saturday night and I worked last night (which was tuesday night in AUstralia) and I came to work with the attitude that I didn't really care whether I made money or not coz weeknights have been so slow at my club recently and I made my money on saturday.

So I just chilled out and chatted to customers casually.

Well it turns out I had one of my best nights ever!
I didnt ask a single person (not one) for a dance yet I got asked ALL night and I made almost as much as I usually make on a saturday night working my arse off.

    So theories ladies?

Was it just my lucky night or did my attitude attract the guys?
Maybe when I pressure myself to make a certain amount of money, they can smell the desperation on me?
Also I didn't care last night how long I chatted to customers and it turned out to pay off very well with one guy in particular.
I am usually impatient and pop the wanna dance line too quickly (no I don't just say "wanna dance" but you know what I mean).

I am going to stick to this approach from now on, on weeknights.

Weeknights in general from my experience with Melbourne requires a slower hustle. Friday and Saturday nights require the hustler hustle (as I call it).

So whereas I may only take a song or three on Fri or Sat nights to sell a dance. I will take up to 5 songs (as such) to sell on a week-night yet just play it by ear........yet keep moving. I won't stay with anyone for longer than 5 songs before I try to 'disappear' (make an excuse to get back to work/go to the ladies/etc) and will give them two more tries after my initial approach unless it has been made clear to me that they won't buy from me.

And yes your attitude did help.

I used to work like this all the time and it worked well for a long time. ALL of my best nights financially have been nights where I havent husstled one bit. However as Ive found in the last year or so, as soon as things get tough, buisness gets slow, various problems in the club etc it no longer works. Its definatly good to have a hustle to fall back on / or a good idea to work on developing one (which I am doing currently, lol.) I do miss the easy nights though, sigh.

I found that when I have money and don't care about having it, I can stash up a savings because I always seem to make bucket loads.

On the other hand, if I need money - work is scarce.

Totally agree, I think customers have a sixth sense for when you see them as giant dollar signs... when I hustle I can become systematic (I'm a Capricorn... sometimes I can't help it), I find if I don't worry about amounts so much and just concentrate on being positive, working all night (not sitting in back), and going with the flow money comes in. Oh yea, and any given night I find it best to never "ask" for a dance... instead say something like..." I could really go for a VIP with you", or "Hey you know we could have some fun.." I think psychologically this works because if you just flat out ask, no is the easiest one word answer, so if you don't phrase it in the form of a question they actually have to think about a reply.

I totally agree that when I don't really need money and am relaxed and chill at work, I make more money. Probably because I really am having fun dancing, talking to people, in a good mood.... and it shows.

I think I freak out and can be a bit short and rude when I really need money.

I always care.... why go to work if not to bank???

"needing" to make money motivates me. of course, I'm not really in need, i just need MORE! And that's why I go to work. if i didn't care abut making money, I'd waste tooo much time, I'm sure...

This attitude worked GREAT for me the other night! it was my first night at a club that i am trying-out, and i figured i didn't care really what i made, since i got there early and had NO HOUSE FEE!! I ended up being the second top money maker, which i don't think is bad, considering that it was my first night there.

this was the hustling style that i started out with way back in the day. however, it doesn't work all of the time, such as on weekends and with certain people. IMHO, i think that you have to constantly change your style to match the customers that you're with at the moment. and even then, you still won't please everyone, but you have a better chance at making money!!
