Default i think i need to put on some weight - how to?

    hi ladies,

i have a question ... i think i need to put on some weight.

i have lost about 10kgs in the last year and currently weigh 51kgs and am 174cm tall.

my method for losing weight was to eat healthier (not necessarily less) and lots of exercise - been doing 2-3 hours gym work per day.

i now have a situation where i have very little body fat (which i dont mind) but on a negative the veins on my legs and arms are beginning to show (which i hate). i have been trying to put on weight (was down to 49kgs at one pt) and even though i have had success, i think its all coming in the form of muscle and therefore doing nothing to fix my visible vein problem.

funny thing is the whole idea for losing the weight was to lose my tummy. i did that but lost my boobs and got my visible veins.

boobs now need a boob job and veins i have no solution to.

any suggestion as to how to fix my body look problem would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers,

    julie

wow. yeah, you could use a little more weight on you. Just cut back at the gym. Do an hour instead of 3. Eat more. Keep eating healthy, but increase your calories.

PLEASE be careful with yourself spending that much time at the gym. Anorexia by Exercise exists, ladies!

I had a similar problem last year when I went through a bad break-up and lost a little weight. I've always been small, but my periods started coming late and sometimes skipping altogether. So here's what I tried that worked well for me.

    - Substitute whole milk for skim or 2%. It tastes freaking AWESOME and it's full of vitamins A and D, which are essential to maintaining skin tonality.

    - Go for butter instead of margarine.

    - Salad dressing. Put it on anything and everything where it would taste good. A turkey/lettuce/tomato/provolone sandwich on whole wheat will leave you will feeling full in a healthy way, and bleu cheese dressing smeared on instead of mayo adds to both the taste and calories.

    - Cheese is amazing because of its high butterfat content--and we're not talking Kraft singles. Buy yourself some nice brie and smear it on rosemary sage bread. ORGASMICALLY good and very helpful to put on weight.

I'm sure I've got more, but that's all I can remember right now. Make sure that you commit yourself to a reasonable weight and really work for it; gaining weight is just as legitimate a quest as losing it, and can be incredibly important to both your body and your state of mind. If all else fails, two words: Ben & Jerry's.

Eat pizza and go directly to bed. Do it a few nights in a row...and I promise you'll gain some lbs.

ClassyLady is 100 % Right. Female bodybuilders and fitness contestants often have hormonal issues. For women 15 to 20 % body fat is good. 12 to 15% is borderline and below 12 % suppresses estrogen production permitting testosterone to take over. If I were you I'd just cut back on the workouts while still eating healthy. Eat bananas, flan or custard, sweet potatoes etc. = high calorie foods that are still "good" for you.
