I'm bummed I missed it. Wanna know what is fucked up? My ex told me three idiots he works with are skipping work to go meet some teenage girls in New Jersey they met on the net. I was like helllooo Dateline NBC? They are totally going to end up on there. Who the hell meets teenage girls online and skps work in FL to fly to NJ to hook up? Oh yeah, the people on that show!
I've never seen the show itself, but I caught a clip of it once on CNN at the gym. I have mixed feelings about it. I mean, yes it's good to catch pedophiles, but entrapment and public humiliation when there hasn't actually been a real crime committed... I dunno. I'm very ambivalent.

hey dont miss part 2 i think its on next tue at 8
Entrapment?
there's no entrapment, they have an officer pose as a 13 or 14 year old girl or boy and guys will just start chatting with the teenager. They'll tell them their aga and the guys will start asking questions if they're virgins, and if they like cuddling and kissing, and if their parents are home and stuff. The men always initiate the sex talk, and they always do it even after they know how old the supposed teenager is.
Some men even go as far to send naked pictures of their dicks and talk about oral and anal sex.
And that is a major crime -- Hello! sending pornographic material to a minor?
It's also a felony 3 to solicit a child under the age of 14 for sex, which every one of these men are guilty of.
I think maybe you should watch the show before you speak your mind, it just makes you sound silly!
I couldn't beilieve that guy had a French Tickler and claimed he bought it in an office supply store and it was a finger protector......sicko
What's even crazier is that the guys talk to the cameras after they've been caught. I'm surprised they don't ask for a lawyer and keep they're mouths shut. Well then again they are internet child predators.............

one guy had been teacher (math) for 7th graders for like 20 years
he was there 2 meet a 13 yr old boy and when he was caught he said it was only a joke.
ya right dirty fucker he still in jail where he belongs

Doesn't it all seem a bit... dramatized?

"In life, we DO a lot in order to accomplish mundane trivial things before we die, but it is in death and after death in memories that we will truly live, because it is in the level of care and detail that a person paints of us with stories from their memories and experiences with us that give us meaning."
I don't watch this show becuse I don't like how they are takeing a serious crime and turning into entertainment. The populaitary of this shows is disdurbing to me its like americans are upsessed with idea that people would want to do such a hanis act I don't want to add fuel the fire by giving it ratiengs.

This show was mildly entertaining at first. Anymore its simply disheartening to watch knowing that Dateline can set up these stings in just about any part of the country and attract these morons like flies. Its as if there's a never ending supply of them.
I particularly find disturbing that some of them actually admit to seeing previous broadcasts of the show and even inquire in the chat rooms if they're being set up. But against their better judgment, they show up at the sting house anyway.

I think NBC has to make money and what better way than to raise consciousness. I think most people know the dry statistic that 25% of girls are molested by 18. I don't think people understand that it's not the boogeyman, the black/brown man, or the poor desperate man who does these things. Contrary to generations of conditioning in the white community to believe it. It's the white hetero husband, father who's the most likely because his group is in the majority. The news reports crimes by non-whites and by poorer perpetratators disproportianately. Most crime is committed within that race and class. That's why it's shocking. They're exploiting that blind spot. They tune in to see that, holy crap, it's the local teacher, rabbi, husband and father of 3.
This could start a revolution of people choosing to pay more attention to their teenagers. They could learn why they shouldn't have computers in their room out of sight where some nut can silently manipulate them. They could learn to redirect their kids' energy into constructive things.
Exactly. It's a witch hunt.Originally Posted by krchab99

I don't like the show. While, of course, I think they are predators and pedophiles are some of the worst criminals out there, I still think there is something very creepy about it being a prime time national T.V. show. What is wrong with us that we want that as "entertainment". I think it's just weird.I don't watch this show because I don't like how they are takeing a serious crime and turning into entertainment. I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily
I use to work for an airline. This guy I worked with told me that him and three of his buddies from Delta Airlines were going to Thailand for a "Good time" and that the girls there were young and cheap. I thought he was talking about like 17 years or older. That week I was watching 20/20 and they had a show about American men fly there to fuck little girls. It was the sadiest thing I've ever seen. When I saw him when he got back, I couldn't even look at him. We never really talked after that. It's a sick world out there.
^^^ You should've reported him. It's actually a felony in the USA to visit another country for the purpose of sexually exploiting a minor. That law was passed specifically because of the Thailand expeditions you mentioned. Even if it's legal in another country, it's illegal in THIS country to go there to do it.
