Default I work in Houston Should I get my dancers liscense?

I know that vice comes in and busts clubs for girls that aren't liscensed, but what if you are wearing the full amount of latex and you have full backs on? I haven't seen any threads talking about this, sorry if I missed one. Does

Houston Ordinance Sec 28-253 Permit Required:

    (a) It shall be unlawful for any person who does not hold a permit to act as an entertainer or manager of or in an enterprise.

    (b) It shall be the duty of the operator and owners of each enterprise to ensure that no person acts as an entertainer or manager of or in the enterprise unless that person holds a permit.

    Sec 28-256 Display:

    (a) Each manager or entertainer shall conspicuously display his personal card upon his person at all times while acting as an entertainer or manager of or in an enterprise.

    (b) ..blah, blah, provide/show your card to the manager, blah blah.

    (c) ...blah, blah, if you dont have your card on you then you are'nt licensed as far as they are concerned, blah, blah.

....It does not say "permit required unless you have pasties/full bottoms". The pasties/full bottoms approach is trying to beat the wording in Sec 28-258 Conduct of Employees. It basically says, if your areola, butt and genitals are "less than completely and opaquely covered" then you cant touch a customer or his clothing and cant get closer than 3 feet. In summary, 1)permit required, 2)if your parts are covered up then go make money.

I did the whole pasties/full bottoms for a while. The latex really started to get on my nerves so I just went ahead and got my license. If you decide to get it, it's at 801 Polk St. downtown. Go between 8-11:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday, with a $60 money order. Where do you work btw?

...again, a license is required if a dancer is wearing latex/bottoms and a license is required if a dancer is not wearing latex/bottoms. Managers have been feeding dancers that BS line "about not needing a license if covered" for years, yet, they cant show them the law/ordinance to back up their claim.

If you get a license and then hope to get a regular job one day, would the license show up on a background check?

Kat said it did not, and I got the impression she had some pretty thorough background checking done for her current job.

It does not show up on a background check. However, if any agency really wants to get to it, won't be difficult. It didn't show up on the background checks I underwent getting my current professional licenses.
