The thread title, by the way, is a Sopranos reference .

Ug, that story is disgusting. I can't believe the jury found him not guilty.

Did anyone else notice that in the article, the girl works at CAPTAIN CREAM CABARET? that can't be real. I can't believe a city would allow that as a public business name. I mean...in some weird way, I like it...as a JOKE. but c'mon...that's just..wrong.

This story is unsettling at best.

What really happened is still unclear and the fact that the police officer wasn't charged at all is beyond scary. He was on duty. This should not have happened and the fact that the dancer and police officer already knew each other is even more questionable.

The story was poorly written. The title is unprofessional and makes a mockery of a serious issue. Side notes about the dancer should not have been included in the story. The jury wasn't representative. This case was won before they went to trial and how telling is it that the dancer was paid off to keep from filing a civil suit...

... it's come to front page coverage of Anna Nicole Smith, preceded by front page coverage of the Duke Rape Case. In other words, thanks to the Hollywood Stereotype and the constant news media reinforcement of its 'accuracy', just about every cop, judge, and housewife / retiree / civil servant who winds up sitting on a jury will make the assumption that a busted dancer is lying to save her own ass.

If you check the article closely, you'll see that the dancer did get a bit of compensation for the incident .... $400,000 dollars worth, to be exact !

Interestingly enough, it's the classiest place in the area.
