    Thumbs down Allergic to exercise?

Well, not really allergic. Everytime I go to the gym or yoga class or workout at home, for some strange reason, I end up feeling really nauseated (sp?) for about a half hour afterwards. I've tried eating at different times, I've tried drinking more water, I even tried a premptive strike against it by drinking some Alkaseltzer before hand. I don't feel like I'm pushing myself too hard or anything and I'm not pregnant so what's up? This isn't normal, is it? Should I resort to eating crackers throughout my workout?

If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it.

Do you feel dizzy, also? Does the nausea go away after you eat?

If you stop without cooling down properly, it will make you nauseated.

I know you're young and all,but talk to your dr. Could be problem with the ticker. Or maybe you are hving some sot of acid reflux? Not to worry you, but if you're like me and have no health ins. Go anyway. It's worth it to know you're ok to work out.

Acid reflux? Maybe. I do have gastrointestinal issues but I didn't make any connection with it. Yesh, I'll go see my GI doc. Who knows; maybe he'll actually help! lol. Thank you!!!

I second the cool down. Also check your heart rate frequently while you exercise, if you don't already, many times I felt I wasn't working that hard, but my heart rate was way too high (huge cause of nausia).

My friend (who is insanely fit) said you need to work out on an empty stomach, and it seems to help. She said to exercise at least three hours after eating, and sip water during.

    Hope this helps.

when you exercise toxins are being released from your cells into your body to be eliminated. the dizzy and nasea feeling caused by the released toxins are common on any detox diet/program. If you continue to exercise, drink tons of water, and eat healthy the dizzyness will go away because you will have less toxins and your lymph system will functioning properly.

If I go long periods without exercising (which is usually accompanied by eating poorly) I will experience the same symptoms as you maybe the first week or so that I'm back exercising and eating healthy. Afterwards I start feeling great and exercising feels great.
but the amount of time it takes you might vary depending on your lifestyle/eating habits.

    good luck!

If you have GI issues, I second the idea to work out on an empty stomach. I cannot do high intensity stuff if I've eaten in the last three hours, especially hard to digest stuff like meat or complex carbs. Ouch. I will get crampy and bloated.

I get nausea during workouts if I push myself too hard as well. It could be a heart rate thing. I don't know.
