wow, that is cool, but I'll pass
I don't care if it's "ophthalmic-grade silicone"....the hell if it's going in my eyeball
This sounds really interesting. Not in my eye, no thanks, but cool none the less. For some reason the pic wont come up. I'm really curious as to what it looks like.

here is the video after contacting the doctor
now it looks scary..

Awesome, but for right now I am A-ok with wearing colored contacts. Although, contacts can have a slight risk as well...

Whoa I saw the procedure in that video. Oh icky! I think I'll just stick with contacts.

Most surgical procedures are icky to watch. How many women who have had BA's saw video of a surgery and then had second thoughts because of it?
I had LASIK a few months ago, and even though I got about the best results from it that anyone can hope for, I'd like to avoid messing with my eyes any more than I would need to.
I have to say that it is tempting though. I have brown eyes, but my father has green eyes, and I had a brief flirtation with green contacts last year before the LASIK. They looked good, but still you could tell up close.
I might re-consider in a few years as the procedure gets more established.
Now if only they could do something to reverse premature graying of the hair!

The eye thing, hmm I'll stick to contacts for now.

I wouldn't want to risk being blind... Then how will I be able to see you pretty ladies?

No thanks. Contacts seem a lot less dangerous, and who knows if I'd want to change my mind again?

Too bad there wasn't another way to do it. I don't want to risk eye injury.
Did the video say how much it cost?
oooh, i think it looks neat. i'm way too much of a wuss to actually do it, but it still is a cool idea. i'm too uncoordinated to wear contacts... i tried but i just cannot get them in!

I would totally do it. Once I can I'll report back with mah pretty green eyes. Or should I go gray?![]()

isn't that something like what hitler was trying to do? i think it is creepy. not just that doctors took his genocide and turned it cosmetic..but that people would really want to do that.
maybe i'm just thinking about it too much.

thank goodness i was blessed with some fierce green eyes.i wouldn't want to fuck with my vision either.
Thats is really cool, but i deff. wouldnt do it. I think color contacts are just fine...plus...its kinda like what if you want to change your color again? The what do you do? Get the surgery again? I think contacts are the way to go with this issue..
^They need to invent some color change eyes. They could switch from blue to green to gray to multicolored to brown to taupe or whatever match your mood or outfit. Now that would be cool. I'm sure that invention is just around the corner.

I actually have the doctors info, and price for the procedure is $8500 but the doctor deducts $1000 for travel expenses. Hmmmmm.... I will just copy and paste the explanation that was emailed to me, if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.
* The info below is what was sent to me when I requested more info from the office, this information was sent to me 1/4/2007 7:50:48 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, hope that helps*![]()
Hello,
The procedure take 8 minutes per eye There are only blue and green the price is $8500 but the Doctor deducts 1000 for traveling expenses. We have a bank that loans money to patients for this surgery .There is no website but I will send you some pictures that might interest you. New Eye implants are non refractive phakic lenses, angle supported in the
anterior chamber. Unlike refractive lenses, the visual
axis is open, nonobstructed, thou the aquoeus humor flows
without resistance. New Color Implants are almost 100times thinner
than other phakic lenses. A peripheral iridotomy is also performed. The Doctors experience with the lenses in human is of five years. Other pahkic lenses have a 15
years experience and the designs have been improved in the
last years. No patient has gone blind , no
cataract, retinal detachment or any other serious
complications. It is indeed very important to
check the compatibility and eligibility of the patient.
This is done with a pre-op protocol sent to the patients
and to be performed by his or her ophthalmologist of
confidence. The Doctor has only been presenting his work in the best Ophthalmologicals
meetings in the world and have avoided any commercially
biases. His main area of research is prevention of
blindness and the implants are indeed primarily produced to
improved the quality of life for those who suffer from albinism, coloboma,
heterochromia, and iris trauma .
First generation pseudophakic and phakic lenes, those used 20 years ago,
proved to be prone to have all the complications
Last generation anterior chamber lenses are
receiving new attention as better designs and materials
make them safer. Bausch and Lomb has just presented a new
angle supported lens this year at the American Academy
Meeting. Two symposias have been held this year both at
the ASCRS (American Society of Catarct and Refractive
Surgery) and the Alkmerican Academy of Ophthalmology where
experts agree phkic lenses have a new place in ocular
surgery. Proper patient selection is crucial and annuals
follow ups are recommended.
New Eye Implant is a thin (0.17mm) flexible and soft diaphragm
place over the iris following its natural configuration
and height (vault) and kept in place by small foot plates
that rest at the angle without placing no great pressure
to the trabecula nor to the Schlemm canal. Most lenses
are place in the angle using haptics. Even the new lens
by Bausch & Lomb uses haptics. The super thin nature and materials of
New Eye Implant as well as having an open pupil and foot plates
fixation, are steps forwards for a safer lens.
. Only two eyes have suffered from ocular hipertension and iritis.
Implants available in the US are from Ophthec USA and
Morcher. New Eye implants are available for albinism, coloboma,
heterochromia, iris trauma and cosmesis and are US
patented by this Doctor. Vision may be blurry from 2-3 days
after op. He asks the patients to stay for a
week before returning home with there new colored eyes. Antibiotics and
antiinflamatory eye drops are prescribed for the first
week to avoid infections and promote fast recovery.
Kind Regards,
Richard

The procedure is impressive, but the colors look fake.
I almost feel this is going too far.![]()

^^^ ya know what, that's what turned me off as well. The color looks like very cheap contacts! The after photos look like some of the people lost some of the expressive nature that their natural eyes exude. That's creepy

they look nice to me in an unbelievable way.. i think the light blue looks good.(could pass for natural)
dr. kahn is different than that last doctor you listed, layka.
Eew! I love my cheap contacts, but I don't want to look like that all the time! They look so much better when I know they are coming out later...check em out.

Those are nice, but the cheap ones that I'm reffering too are the ugly one dimensional color faded ones. I've bought contacts from several different brands, but I hate the way some are just one dead color, unless it's really light. I dunno, it just looks more natural when it's several different pigments of the same color blended together. Yours are bright and awesome.
