    Default frustrating!

So, I posted last week about cutting soda out from my diet entirely to help my weight loss efforts...and though I crave it like crazy, I haven't had a sip in 1 week, 1 day.

Initially, I lost 4 lbs in 2 days, with no changes of diet/exercise. Which was a terrific motivator.

But, after a few days, I put it right back on, and I'm where I started again.

It's so FRUSTRATING! Everyone told me I'd lose weight by getting rid of soda...and it makes sense...150 a can, 6-10 a day...that's a huge hunk of calories to get rid of.
I just don't understand how I put it all back on. Valentines Day I did a sugar binge, sure, but still!

I just feel kind of...hopeless. Like, I got rid of the soda, it made no difference,s o I might as well go back to drinking it. And I know that would be bad, but the thought is in my head since apparantly it didn't change anything.

    Thoughts? Advice? Encouragement?

Hey sweetie i feel ya what i can say is losing whight to keep it off is about makeing healthy choices and watching your portions I am sure you know that and i am not trying to be a smart ass I think cutting soda is awsome I am trying so hard to that I don't get any cals. from my soda i think diet caffine free but i would love to get rid of it but its sooooooo hard i am addicted to caroanation i belive. But i digress I think scince you were so succesful at cutting out soda you can be very succesful at makeing other healthy choices. I recommend the "best life diet" book Its realy good I have a copy I think it will help you to see what other healthful changes you can make. Also check out some of my posts in the what did you eat today thread. My cals. are to low please don't do my exact diet I am working on that issue with myself but my diet is realy healthy and you could add to it where you want.

i gave up soda about 9 months ago. The initial wait loss was great and it did encourage me to change the rest of my eating habits. Back when i used to drink soda i used to eat so much junk that i am honestly surprised that i wasn't even bigger. However, once i saw initial results and then got even beter results by following a healthy eating plan i finally decided to start exercising to get even better results. i don't keep a scale around so i don't know how much weight loss i've had but it is a huge difference, other people guess somewhere around 40 pounds. My old soda habit was about one to two six packs a day, not to mention that i did not drink any water at all. Not only did i get thinner but i feel a lot healthier as well.

You just got to stick with it. Make it a point to stick with it at least 27 days. The thing is your mind might want to loose that weight, but your body doesn't follow your mind immediately. To your body your starving yourself and it compensates by absorving most of the calories it usually wouldn't in order to maintain what it believes to be a normal weight. However once you get past 27 days (This is on avg. as everyones body works different, but just make it your target goal.) your body will have adapted to what you were trying to do. You will feel more energetic, healthy, and your body will give you clearer indications of when it's had enough because it is adapting to a new weight. Also it's not only about what you eat, but when you eat and at the same time when you weigh yourself. Your body's weight fluctuates throughout the day and if you weight yourself at different times you may have different readings. It's a natural process you shouldn't get discouraged, keep with it and once you get on a roll you'll be surprised at how easy it is to keep going. Try not to focus on it to much, just think about it when your going to do something involving what your doing, meal times and excersise times. The rest of the time just forget about it, obsessing over anything won't help, just have faith that what your doing will work and it will.
