    Default American Comfort Food

I'm having a shit week, so I bought a bunch of delicious American comfort food. The more empty carbs and less nutritional value, the better. I wasn't allowed to eat most of this stuff growing up, and seldomly do now, but fuck it. Usually I get everything fresh, or at least from the deli, with less processing. Some of the things I like:

    Mac n Cheese (of course)
    Can O Chili
    Kraft American Cheese
Oscar Meyer Sandwich meat (I chose turkey, the staple is bologna)
Nature's Own bread (prefer honey wheat, the shit is still super preserved)
    Kraft or Hidden Valley Ranch
    can o tuna
    Stouffer's frozen lasagna
    kit kat
    snickers
    reese's peanute butter cups
Cadbury creme eggs (all the sweets from after VDay sale, very cheap!)

Add your comfort foods!! If you aren't in the US, well there isn't really anything outside the US, is there? Ha, just kidding, post your native comfort foods one and all!!

Now, I have russian comfort food too, but that's an entirely different thread....

Corn casserole. Preheat the oven to 350 F (170 C). Crack 2 eggs into a bowl and beat them; add 1/2 cup milk, 2 Tbsp sugar, and 2 Tbsp flour. Mix it all thoroughly with a fork. Add a can of drained corn kernels and a can of creamed corn, and mix it up again. Take a casserole dish - any size, I like 8x8 - and melt 1/4 cup butter in it in the microwave. When all the butter is melted and coating the bottom of the dish, pour in the corn mixture. (The melted butter will swirl up the sides and over the top.) Bake for 45 minutes or until it's golden on top, like cornbread.

This is the ULTIMATE in comfort food for me. I could eat the whole damn pan in one night if I would allow myself to.

*If you have whole wheat flour, it tastes EXCELLENT in this. Any kind of flour is fine though.

Hey Morri, I'll trade you some Stouffer's dressing and Hidden Valley Ranch for one of those autographed pics we talked about for my friend, and a little pavlova egg.

Oh, oops, you didn't mean the dressing. Well, I'll send some Hidden Valley Ranch and some A-1 sauce?

Trade the Stouffers for a bottle of Lawry's Seasoning Salt? :3

The photo was ordered but hasn't been printed yet... it's been awhile.

I was supposed to get some stuff for stuff I sent before but either my end didn't hold up or their end.. because Aussie post sucks. D:

^^^ Stovetop stuffing is the SHIZNIT, especially if you use broth instead of water to cook it.

well, of course chocolate! But really anything fattening and greasy and unhealthy.

For Valentine's day I went to the Burger King drive-thru. How much of a loser am I? Made me feel less of a loss not having a man though when I was eating my whopper.

A BLT with the bacon all curled up and crispy, and garden tomatoes, and Best Foods mayo, on Wonder bread so soft and fresh that when you take a bite it turns into a communion wafer and sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Or mom's pinto beans served over fried potatoes and a hunk of cornbread and a stick of butter.

you and I must be from the same place. I was thinking BLTs and beans and cornbread too. Though I prefer my BLT on toasted wheat with avocado.

Also grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
