    Default to the asian strippers/dancers

do you ever get the "me love you long time" line?
i get it A LOT and it didn't really bug me at first but tonight a group of guys kept saying it to me everytime I walked back to vip with a customer and eventually they added, "sucky sucky 5 dolla" which really set me off and I ended up kicking them out.
So I was wondering if any other of you asian girls get that line or other things like being called chinita, china doll, fast and furious, or other things that directly point out your asian ethnicity and if it offends you..?
I know it shouldn't offend me because most of these guys who say things like that are immature and drunk, but still.. =/

I'm not asian, but it seems like those two lines are offensive. They're just ugly and imply that you're some victim of a prostitution ring or something. They deserved to get kicked out. That was completely unnecessary and NOT okay!

Me love you long time? Wow. As insanely ignorant as that is, it is no surprise to me that this witty little gem is too much temptation for the average SC-goer. Sorry you have to deal with that shit!

I'm not a stripper yet but I'm Asian and especially in the UK, I find it difficult. In London, it's not too bad but in the small town where I'm at, I got those comments all the time, in shops/on the street all the time and it's really annoying...nothing much you can do apart from ignoring them..my only concern is now that I'm planning to go for auditions next week, I feel even more consious becos I'm Asian, and probably the only Asian girl in town, let alone the only Asian dancer in the club. Still not sure if it will be an advantage or not but can only find out myself.

Have ordered 2 outfits and some heels waiting for delivery, I can't wait!
Any thoughts on how to tackle the above Asian comment would be much appreciated too, so that i'm prepared!!

lol....I get those lines too from time to time....and I'm not even asian!
It's so funny, but a lot of people think I'm asian when in reality I'm hispanic. Maybe it is because of my dark hair, the color of my skin and the fact that I'm petite. I do think it is offensive and totally immature, only a real asshole will say something like that. Just ignore them. They're not worth it.

You'll need to get used to dealing with the entire spectrum from mildly ignorant to severely socially retarded. Guys say the stupidest sh-t.

Any guy who is getting dances and from you has at least enough sense and good taste to appreciate your company, so if something "off" comes out of his mouth, I'd suggest giving him a second chance by saying, "You might not realize that you're coming across as being offensive, but you are--and if you want me to stay you'll have to respect me."

For guys that aren't spending $$, silence and a withering stare go a long way. Personally, for those customers who are truly offensive (not merely annoying), I would have no qualms about getting them kicked out.

I have worked with some Asian girls who play the stereotypic Asian role with white customers. The girls use that "me love you a long time line" with the guys while chuckling.

Maybe you could play along with customers like that, and fit the mold they want you to fit while aggressively pushing them to get some dances.

I'd just be like "No, sucky sucky 500 dollars, dumbass, it's just that good".

Or "Me love you long time...but since your long time is more than likely 2 minutes, I can't help you with that".

I agree with TIna. Tia is a girl I used to work with and she did that stuff all the time. In fact she didnt even have an accent until she talked to a customer. lol SHe really played it up. She made a FORTUNE. She was like the all time super stripper anywhere close to here. SHe was great. I will try to find a linky to her website. I am not sure what the address is .. I used to have it written down somewhere.

I'm hispanic but people always think I'm asian too! Whenever they assume, I just go with it figuring that's what they're into. I'm mexican and irish, but sometimes I'm part korean or hawaiian, too! It's good to let the guy think he's right.

I was under the impression that in the UK and other Northern European countries, "Asian" referred primarily to people from India/Pakistan/Bangladesh and that us east asians were called "oriental"

Yes, I got a lot of Asian fetish bullshit, but I capitalized off of it. However, don't think for a minute that it gave me much of an advantage. Guys liked to look and talk about how much they loved Asians, but it's all about the hustle. The girls who knew how to dance and hustle made tons more than I did.

Sorry if I confused anyone, thought becos as most replies are based from the US, I'll refer Asian as oriental to make it easier. I was born in Hong Kong, have lived in the US and now in the UK, it did confused me when I first arrive here i.e. Asian here refers to Indian/Pakistan etc... Well, 'china_girl' and my pics obviously indicated that I'm Oriental!

I agree with Krazyjane, will definitely play the Asian fetish thing but even though as a newbie, I can see it's all about ability to hustle, you can't do the accent thing if you can't even start a conversation to lead to a sale. For me, In my head I just think that being Asian in a small town could be scary, many people see it so foreign that they don't know how to approach and as the audience here are mainly young crowds, I can expect the above 'sucky sucky' comments even more.

I'll be nice to have a witty reply to shut them up but yet still get a sale out of it...any thoughts?

My friend was born in Korea and raised in the USA, and she gets this all the damn time. And she's never been a stripper or worked in the adult business at all! Some people are really stupid about that whole thing.

I have another Asian friend who was born in the Phillipines but moved to the USA when she was a baby. She speaks no language but English and she's very much an American, but she lives in Arkansas so people are always referring to her as "that Chinese girl" or talking to her about anime or pulling the "me love you long time" line. She's not a dancer either, she works at Wal-Mart. People are so fucking stupid.

I actually go this question: My uncle was in Vietnam. Is that a part of Japan? I can't even make disparaging comments because this is so disgustingly stupid.

Once, I had a job in which everyone else was Hispanic, and they were always saying that I was Chinese. They said, "But aren't they the same?" I asked them if Mexicans, Peruvians, and Argentinans were the same, and they got pissed at me. Yeesh.

At my last club, there was this really loud, ignorant Armenian dancer. We got a lot of Korean customers in the club because we advertised in the Korean newspaper, and the Korean customers were legendary for taking up the entire tip rail and not tipping at all, or tipping maybe $2 per show for the whole group of 15 guys.

So this Armenian girl comes back in the dressing room and starts screaming about "those fucking Chinese guys" and "those Chinese assholes," etc. I said, "Actually, I think they're Korean." She shouted, "Whatever! It's the same thing anyway!" So we all started laughing and I was explaining the difference between China and Korea, and she wasn't hearing it, and kept insisting they were the same thing.

So this other girl goes, "Hey, you're Mexican, right?" And the loud girl goes, "FUCK NO! I'm Armenian!" And the other girl just shrugged and said, "Whatever. Same thing." The Armenian girl was PISSED. She kept yelling that Armenia and Mexico are totally different, they have totally different languages and food and cultures, and ALL of us were just waving her off and going, "Whatever, same thing." For the rest of the night we were all calling her "chica" and "mamacita" and speaking to her in Spanish. She was furious. But she never referred to Koreans as Chinese ever again, LOL! From that night on, they were all "Asians" to her.

You name it, I've been mistaken for it. People think I'm Hispanic, but they realize that I'm too pale. Some think that I'm part Middle eastern/West Indian. My features are too delicate to be European. I get a lot of questions about my race, but Thai and Vietnamese people can usually recognize my halfness because there's a lot of hapas in their races.

It's funny that none of my famil looks Asian, but White people tend to see it. I guess they're more attuned to people looking different.

    lol.. chica.. mamacita... hah

but no i mean... if i was in like...kentucky or something, it'd be more... more..understandable that people react to asian people this way..
but i live and work in chicago which is as diverse as can be, with a big asian population...
and my club, outta say 60 girls a night have about 6 asian girls so its not like im the only asian girl. So I can't blame the lack of asians in my area as to why guys act like this... I know why they act like this, it's just cuz they're morons and they find it funny amongst their group of friends. No I would rather not play along with THEM, because these guys are usually the young, immature, homies that don't spend money anyway.
Yes I love being asian though, especially at work. I think it has a great advantage , you should do awesome China_girl
And I do play up my asian-ness all the time. I was born and raised in Chicago but most of the times at work, I just came from Korea about 5 years ago to study abroad in the US. I love the asian fetish guys, most of the time they just wanna hug you and look at you, and do things like.. touch your hair or feet... whatever, i'm getting off track now..anyway

I love being asian but I WILL NOT act like what Bella21 said, a victim of a prostitution ring just for their entertainment and a few bucks..
but yeah.. i see i'm not the only one that gets comments liek this..

I'm half Asian, and it shits me so bad. Mostly because, I'm HALF Asian, and half Australian, and I very quickly point out that I'm half Australian but because I look more Asian, it's like they forget and they just assume everything about me must be Asian, but I grew up in a country town - I'm more Aussie than most Aussies. So they'll immediately start speaking to me in Chinese, and I'm just like uhh wtf? I speak English thanks mate. Or they'll ask me what part of China I'm from, I'm just like, um, I don't know? Considering I was born in AUSTRALIA! Or which half of me is Asian, my mum or my dad? Um, how does it matter? Or why don't I speak Chinese? Why hasn't my mum taken me to China? Why don't I want to go to China?

These are the type of questions, that I get asked at least 5 times a shift, every single god damn shift. Those are the types of questions that are annoying, they're so ignorant, it's like they can't accept that I have no interest in my Chinese heritage whatsoever. It wasn't integrated into my upbringing and my mum left the country for a reason.

Comments though, like "me love you long time" "or sucky sucky 5 dolla" I don't find as annoying. First I find it amusing because most people say it without knowing where it actually originates from. Or I'm the one who says to them me love you long time if they start shitting me off with their China questions. Or I tell them they have to pay me way more than 5 dollars to suck them off.

Or, if they've said it in a way that is actually rude, I correct them and say the entire, complete, correct dialogue...they never have anything to say back to me.

Trust me, being pointed out that your Asian isn't so bad, surface comments are easier to deal with than being quizzed on your whole personality and upbringing.

You just have to decide on how you're going to react to certain customers. Some I'll tell to ggf, others I'll play it up. My boss brought in one of his friends, who I know is never going to buy a dance - he doesn't spend his own money at his friend's club so when he starts asking me about China I snapped and went off on a rant "don't ask me about China, I don't care about China, I don't ever want to go there, I may look Chinese but I'm Aussie, I was born here, and I speak English. Ask me anymore questions to do with anything Asian and you'll get my stiletto in your face". It was ok to do it to him, because my boss was like uhh yeah she's the most unAsian girl you'll meet...and he still comes in quite regularly to chat and have drinks and hasn't mentioned the topic since!

However one customer had a fetish for Asian girls and would always go on about how I'd love Macau...and oh yeah, I made him believe I would love it to...if he handed me that $50.

But honestly, you couldn't pay me to go to China.

Guys are sometimes the biggest jerks. I think Asian with white mix have it better than those with a black mix in it! If you could here the things people say to me. If I was to pay attention to the stuff they say to me. I would be sued for kicking somebody butt.
