    Thumbs down Stretch mark rejection

Okay so I finally worked up the courage to go and audition at a topless club thats not high end but also not the bottom of the barrel. I went in pretty confident since one of my friends who frequents the club well enough to even know the manager (although i didnt name drop when i went) had referred me and seen my outfit, informal audition, etc and said that i was good to go. So I went and went to the back office with the daytime manager where he had me take off my top then said he couldnt hire me because I had "too many stretch marks". Now granted I do have them (just under my belly button to above where hair starts to grow), I've had 2 kids one year apart and fairly recently (theyre 2 &3) and I do see them too but I didnt think they were enough to hinder me from dancing, esp since in clubs the lighting is darker and then theyre not that obvious. I mean I'm confident enough with them that last summer was the first since the kids that every weekend I was at the beach in a bikini! So I'm wondering is this a real problem, do you think it was just the club/ manager, should I try creams and working out more, or just give up till I get a tummy tuck to take care of it?? BTW, I'm 5'10" and 168lbs, thick still but mostly just curvy in the right places since this was a mostly latin/black club. Rejection sucks, esp when while i was waiting to audition two guys (after telling them why i was there) told me they wanted to be near the stage when i did....money lost wtf!

Eh, screw him. Go to another club. Stretch marks really aren't a big deal.

I no one with strechmarks was allowed to dance, every stripclub in the world would lose about 75% of their girls. Keep it moving on to the next club girl. Don't worry about stupid stretchmarks.

I think it was just the manager being an ass. I just went to my first audition and the manager mentioned nothing of my stretch marks. And I know they are visible. You should so find a better club. If you're confident enough to wear bikinis then tell him to go kick rocks!

Yes, I think finding a different club is the right thing. Otherwise, I use cocoa butter on my stretchmarks. And for some odd reason I am so comfortable with mine. I think it lets people know that you are a real lady. Your skin isn't just going to always be the sam eafter having kids. Do you know what clubs you want to work at?

Well for now since I'm so new I wanna stick to just the topless clubs (I feel like i need to cling to that small t-bar for life!!) untill i at least get a feel for being on stage. I swear thats the part that freaks me the most, b/c I could deal with crusing the room buck naked... But so far I'm trying to stay semi-local since regardless NYC is huge so the cheaper the cab ride home the better. I'm looking towards maybe The Players Club or Golden Lady, both in the Bronx. Anyone in NYC or just with general insight please help! I'm assuming I should go with makeup on my belly for the next audition so those type of tips would be helpful, esp since its winter and I dont want it to all rub off on my clothing before I even get there, and just in general, damn I wanna at least make it to the stage first. BTW is it normal to get topless in the office before you actually dance??

When I went to my audition the manager asked me to take off my clothes so he could see my body. So I'm guessing it is normal.

yea go to another club. the place i'm working at is kinda bottom barrel too, but guys throw money around as much as a fancy place. i've found most of our dancers have had kids which leaves the stretch marks, saggy-ish boobs, and often over streched stomachs ....guys dont care!

I had a tummy tuck and the stretch marks are not completely gone. I do put make up over them when I put makeup over the tummy tuck scar but just a little. I make sure I have makeup on when I am on stage...I don't care about it when I am in VIP because I don't want to get makeup on my customer.

Why don't you try to cover them with makeup the next time you audition somewhere? Dermablend is good for this.

Really? Sin city turned you away for stretch marks? Hmmm. For anyone that has never been there, the lighting is very bright so stretch marks would be easily seen.
My god, do NOT go to the Golden Lady!!! Its gotta be the MOST ghetto ass club i have ever seen--girls that walk the track in hunts point work there on theier days off. get thee to players club or crazy horse (if you HAVE to work in the bx) and if they dont hire you...go to queens or manhattan and stay outta brooklyn.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

I'd recommend the Sally Hansen leg spray stuff instead of Dermablend. It looks more natural and blends more easily. Even though I've always been thin, I still have stretch marks on my hips and the Sally Hansen stuff did a pretty good job of covering them up.

The Sally Hansen stuff rubs/sweats off too much. I love the way it looks but it just doesn't cut it for me at work.

I've seen alot of girls using Dermablend on their tummies so it might be worth a try. At least for audition

I have seen a lot of girls with stretch marks at work and it's not noticeable under the darker lighting. I agree with the other girls go find another club.

I've heard great things about Dermablend, but it never covered anything for me. A fake tan always covered up stretch marks for me. Mine are old though and from puberty and only on my hips and boobs. Don't know if age and location would affect what products work best. If one doesn't work, try the other, and don't be bothered by them, most dancers have a few.

I agree with everyone else here. You look good in that pic, just look for another club. Or try different things to cover the stretch marks up. Most women I know have some somewhere, its just part of life. Good luck

Theres several girls with stretch marks at my club, but you can only see them under the bright light of our dressing room. The dark club lighting makes flaws like this less obvious.

From dancers I have known -- I would rather get a dance with a dancer with obvious stretch marks than with one who covers them up. In the latter case, I find myself assuming that the strestch marks are seriously worse than they actually are. Also -- since I am 47 years old, there is no way any dancer can ever give me the impression that she is too old. If I am asking her for a dance, I obviously consider her hot -- and the closer she is to my own age, the better.

Sally Hansen airbrush legs is a miracle for scars/stretch marks for photoshoots. I have not tested it in the club, so I can't attest to the staying power.

Gypsy, an entertainer of the year and two-time Diamond G-String Award winner at Delilah's in Philadelphia has some stretch marks. She's still fantastic.

I have them on my behind, I've been using creams to reduce their appearance. Self tanner does help hide them somewhat. The airbrush legs stuff is awesome, it makes your skin look amazing if you apply it correctly. I tried this though, and it rubbed off on my custy's shirt.

Wait what is worse is that some clubs that don't allow stretch marks allow girls with SUPER cottage cheese booties!

Yes, there was a lot of that at Sin City...please be careful if you go there. It's more than a little ghetto. The reason I quit was because I locked my keys and phone in the car before my shift one day, and had nobody to tell, ask for a phone book, etc. That's when I realized how bad it was---a general "not trusting" is assumed, but not being able to ask for help in that situation is on another level...I felt so fucking stupid, what white girl in the Bronx (or anyone period) does that, but I guess it "just happens" but whoah that was bad.
