    Default Weird skin thingey...

So, Boyfriend has this round, red, dry, itchy patch of skin on his neck. He also had one on his arm about 2 months ago which went away but left the skin lighter where it was.

You guys know everything, you have to know what this is.

It could just be dry skin. I know for me, in the winter I could those odd patches on my neck, arms, legs...and they look HORRIBLE. Everyone thinks I have a hickey or something, but no, just dry skin that won't go away, no matter how much lotion I use

That's what his dad's ex (who is a nurse) said, although she hasn't seen them in person yet.

Ringworm looks like that. It's not as gross as it sounds. Basically, you can put some Monistat or other anti-fungal cream on it and it will go away. I used to get a spot of it occasionally. I blamed it on dancing because I can't imagine how else I'd get something like that.

if he just gets it during the winter its probably dry skin. The same thing happens to me as the air dries out and the forced air heating goes on. the best thing to do is rub his body down with lotion as soon as he gets out of the shower. Eventually it will go away... but really i doubt its anything to be worried about.

that similar thing happens to me when my skin drys out. i've been to the dermatologist for it and everything and he recommended using cetaphil lotion. lotion doesn't help me much, but rubbing vasoline on it makes it stop itching and feeling dry, and it ususally goes away within a few days if I use it.

My ex and I had ringworm once. We got it right after we adopted my first cat. The doctor told me to inspect her for a similar spot to what we had. Sure enough, she had a spot on her belly when we looked. It was HORRIBLE and itchy and people at work (I was working at a printing company) were afraid to come near me. I wore gloves when I did anything, which was sort of normal since I was working with chemicals anyway. But it did gross everyone out.

It had spread pretty much over my whole body, and my ex had it all over his too. The single spots look like a red oval/circle, sort of bumpy and normal skin in the center.
It spreads fast and is contagious too, so tell him not to scratch it. If it is ringworm, he needs some anti-fungal cream right away!!

    Sounds like ringworm, I agree.
We all caught it when my cousins cat had kittens and I had a spot that sounded just like that. He will need to go to a doctor asap esp if it is ringworm as u can catch it from him. He will need to take anti fungal medication to get rid of it.
