I know that there are only a few days a month you can actually concieve and i was wondering how you know which days they are according to your cycle.
Thanks ladies![]()

It changes every month. Technically it's the day you ovulate, and the day after, and you ovulate approximately 2 weeks before the beginning of your next period.
It's very unpredictable. Rule of thumb: you can conceive any day, so use contraceptives every day!
Technicially, you can only concieve the day you ovulate, and the day after, BUT sperm can live inside your body for 5 days, so if you have sex 5 days befor eyou ovulate, you can still get pregnant. So there is about a week that you can get pregnant. You can get a general idea of when you ovulate by keeping track of your periods, your most fertile 2 weeks beofre the start of your next cycle. You can figure out for sure when you;ve ovulated by charting your cycles using a thermometer and taking your temp every day, there are slight chnages of temp during the cycle, and you will be able to spot these changes and know when you have ovulated, that can't predict ovulation, but based on previous months charts, you ca get a pretty good idea of when you should ovulate the next month, but it isnt alwyas consistant. You may ovulate a day later or eariler than expected. It just isnt consistant. You can also use an ovulation predictor kit, which can tell you if you are going to ovulate within the next 24-48 hours.
If your NOt trying to concieve, you should always assume your fertile, because there are just to many variables and changes every month to ever assume that there is a "safe" time for sex.
this site has a calculator for ovulation
ovulation calculators (likeabove) can be very good if you know when you've got your period, how lomg your cycle is, and they're even more effective if you measure your basal body temp.
14 days after the first day of your period. So let's say you started your period on the 14th, you should ovulate on the 28th. The day before this day and the day after would be the most fertile days.
