The only non-agency booked club that comes to mind is the Paramount in New Westminster. The majority of clubs in BC are booked through an agency though I don't know if the rules are any different for house girls at those clubs.

Two women on SW that come to mind that would know what you need to do would be Cally and Scarlett....

Cally travels across Canada but is based in Ontario...she is a wealth of knowledge on licences, agencies, etc.....

Scarlett is in Vancouver and works out of an agency there that has a reputation for some of the best dancers in the business. I know because I have been entertained by some of the dancers from her agency. Talk about VAVOOM!!!

Talk to either of these two women and I am sure all your questions will be answered!!!

BTW Great to see another Alta based woman here!

    Where in Alberta are you?

In Edmonton if you have your license you can freelance at Diamonds or Show Girls..

I believe the No 5 Orange in Vancouver takes freelancers.

The thing is though if your freelancing you will not be doing stage. Its lap dances only.

Im surprised you dont want to do the agency booking for stage work... a lot better money doing that then there is in lap dancing.

What kind of fees are required if you work for an agency?...do they provide transportation, accomodation etc?

Working with an agency you get paid x amount per show... they take a percentage(usually around 10&#37 of each show you do.

You provide your own transpo and most clubs have housing for the girls.

Agencies are great because they get you the show pay, plus you make killer stage tips and you can sell lap dances in some of the cities they book.

The agencies help you stay out of all the BS club mgmt can cause and if you have a good relationship with your agent they can really work in your favor.

Also its almost impossible to work in western Canada without working with an agency.

Superb books Manitoba, Independent Artists book Alberta and Stripper, THATS and Delux book BC.

Agents commission is 15% in Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.

If you are in Edmonton, and would like to be introduced to the agents/clubs...give me a shout...I would gladly help out and be your tour guide for the stripper industry!

Tabledancing in Vancouver can be done at most of the clubs... but most clubs books their tabledancers through the same agencies that book the stage shows. Exceptions include:

    -the Cecil (www.cecil.ca)
    -the Paramount (www.paramountgirls.com)
    -TBarz (www.tbarz.com)
    -The Drake (www.drakeshowlounge.com)
    -Brandis

I think the No5 orange freelancers are booked outside the agency, but I'm not sure. This club is where all the extras occur, so watch out.

For money, if you're cute, I'd try Brandi's first, Cecil second. Brandi's has more girls and reputedly strict standards (as well as a strict schedule); the Cecil is more lax, it's a fun club, but the customers are sort of jerky.

TBars is a low show count, decent show pay... booked through THATS. I heard the money is touch and go there.

Yes, I worked there years ago. Show count is normal for an evening shift, pay is medium-high. Tips are good.

Money on the floor was pretty good. Comparable to downtown.

Now, the place has gone through a few managers since that time (including stripperdj), so I don't know how it is now...

...but I'm not likely to drag my ass out to Whalley to find out.

It's not the only bar in Surrey...the Byrd is just up the road. It used to be the most ghetto dive, but is not awful anymore, I don't think, and is under new management, which is great.

Showpay is low there, shift is long and showcount is low. Tips are good. Private dances are supposedly pretty easy to sell, but it's the kind of place where there are hookers giving $10 bjs out back so...I dunno.

Bottom line, I think you can make OK money in both places. I'd probably try T-Barz first.

There's also the Legacy Showroom in Cloverdale, which is an all-round great gig. Nothing specific, just a good crowd, good staff, good management. Pay and showcount are both medium.

    So T-Barz is ok?

I was talking to a few different girls who worked there in the recent past and they said the money wasnt anything to get excited about.

Maybe it depends on your hustling skills?

I would try it but I wont travel for 15 shows... I need at least 21 shows to consider going somewhere unless its a feature booking in the east where the pay makes up for it.

I sure wouldn't travel to work there. I think it's Ok for local girls, especially if you live in Surrey.
