    Default Hood ornament.

For all of you ladies or men who may be in the know.
I have had my hood pierced. Vertical hood
I have notice a lot lately that the bottom jewel is always pushed up under my hood.
I was crossing my legs this morning and had a serious shock as the jewel dug into my clit. This has happened a few times now.
What do I need to do to fix this?
Do I need to go to a larger size? I think it is a 14 ga now.
I have a pic, if it may help.
I have changed jewelry before but I always stay with the same size.

    Thanks!

Might be the length/ball size. Maybe try getting bigger balls (lol) the bigger they are the less they'll slide up. And maybe get a shorter one so it won't slide up and down as much which can tug it up.

What jewelry do you have in now? A pic would be helpful, but just of the jewelry... no need to show one's fun bits for free.

I used to have a ring in. Just a plain, stainless steel ring. I never had a problem with it.

Its a curved barbell. With a small ball on top. And the jewel on the bottom.
As far as showing it. It in my piercers portfolio. I am sure it has been shown 100's of times by now!
I think maybe it is too small. I have a large hood.

So I went to a piercing shop and spoke to them.
They guy said that it was probably just worn a little bit.
    two things I could try.
    A shorter barbel.
Or a larger gauge. But it might mean stretching the hole, might be painful.
So I had them change it to a shorter bar with a larger ball.. Will try this first.
    So far it hasn't moved!
    Thanks for the advice.

Perhaps you should try some jewelry without a jewel, since it's such a sensitive area.

Exactly what I was thinking. My piercings act up when I go fancy with them. Plain steel has always been good to me.

I have both vertical and horizontal hood piercings. Perhaps the "curved" barbell is the culprit. Could it be flipping downwards causing the lower ball/jewel to tuck under the hood? My VCH barbell is straight and I've not had that problem.

But yeah, I'm all for you posting a pic.

Lola.. that is exactly what is happened or was. Since changing it yesterday it has been much better!
I didn't even think of trying a straight bar.
As for the pic. I will if you will!

I have a VCH as well.

    Mine is 12ga 5/8" with 8mm balls.

    Nothing fancy at all.

I get that all the time too but since mine is plain, it doesn't hurt, lol.

    Try a shorter barbell.

Actually, with a proper taper and some waterbased lube, stretching isn't hard provided the piercing is 'seasoned'. It actually might have loosened up on it's own and the stretch won't be so dramatic.

Ok well I had the same problem as before with my Hood piercing.
So on Wednesday I went back to the shop and went to a larger size.
It was a little uncomfortable for a couple of hours. But I think because it was already stretched a little bit, it made it easier.
So far so good with no migration!
And a little more sensation than I had for quite a while.
The new jewelry.is so cute! I have a new looking kitty again..

ok question: Do you girls who have hood piercings ever change the jewelry? I dont know if this is gross to say or not but I got my horizontal hood done a little over 5yrs ago. I've never taken the jewelry out. Is this bad..or ok?

Its ok to leave it in.
For the first 3 years i never took mine out.
Then I started changing the jewelry when I saw cute ones.
Essentially it is a clean area so there should be no major concerns.
Cinammon you should try changing the jewelry!

AND if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, and piercer worth his needles will change it for you for free, or a small cost.
